Nothing wrong with that. Can't imagine he's taking up much of a wedge & you'll get 100% if we need him as a last resort!

By coincidence this also extends Richie Humphreys' relationship with Chris Turner.

I'm happy to be educated on this, but didn't their paths cross at Hillsborough many years ago?

Since then I'm pretty sure they were at Hartlepool together, too.

And of course here they are both enjoying prominent positions at the Proact.

It would be hard to believe that Chris Turner did not facilitate this. On the other hand nepotism is never very far away in any football club

He offers nothing as a player. Couldn't even get in our terrible side last year and we had no left backs or decent cm's after Morsy left. Even if he only gets a quid from the playing budget it's still a pound that could be better spent elsewhere.

If he's gonna be a coach let him be a coach and not waste a space in our squad.

To be fair, the wage he'll be getting will be more for the coaching role and not the playing.

Whether it's a wage for a new coaching role or from the playing budget, it's still cash going on expenditure rather than debt reduction.

But if you don't have people coaching at the club then the players would just get fat.

All this speculation over how much, or little, Ritchie is costing us is totally pointless. I'm fairly certain none of us have the foggiest what Ritchie drags home every week.

All I see is that he is a very valuable asset to the club. Danny has already brought in a number of young players with little Football League experience and I'm sure they will be given every opportunity to develop and flourish under the guidance and advice from someone such as Ritchie Humphreys.

I, for one, believe Ritchie to be a massive asset to the club and what is happening now is what I feel should have happened with Jack Lester.

I'm with you. I was even thinking that a bit of forward planning is being done on the future Chesterfield Manager front. I'm certainly not understanding Chris's drift. I must be very naïve.

Really ?

I've not seen that anywhere.

So is that an honorary position like ambassador for the DC/PPP or does it involve responsibility and some form of remuneration ?

Wow, he's the president. With being chairman of the PFA and being linked with what's going on across the road can't be good. Is it a paid role and if so has he been paid in the last 4 months?
