You wouldn't want him back?

No, i liked him as a player, i feel we had the best out of him, abit like the caleb folan scenario. I wouldnt want him to come back and not be able to reproduce his old form for us.

Many a true word spoken in jest...

Make no mistake; whatever Allen thinks of his negotiating genius everyone within the game knows we'll sell sooner or later.

Be fair though. The same applies to all clubs in Divs 1 and 2!

You must be crackers. You don't want him back just incase he doesn't reproduce his old form  I've heard it all now!
Okay, without the quality that we had around him last time around he'd be highly unlikely to score as many goals as he did then, but with Doyle you get a team player and a proper grafter. You would always get this from him even if he's not scoring. Doyle or Novak are exactly the type of strikers we need (whether we get anything of their likes is another thing) and then hopefully with our new non-league signing they would form a partnership that works hard for the team and finds enough goals between them. Who else would you like to play up top with SEB... Akinfenwa?

You're right in saying Novak/Doyle are grafters but I think the type of player we need is someone that plays the old fashioned number 9 as a natural position, someone who has a bit of muscle and pace, just to terrify the opposition. Wimbledon had a lad up front the other day that never gave the Argyle central defenders a minute, that's the type of player we need. Obviously in the fantasy team Doyle/Novak to pair up with that type of player.

I wouldn't argue, either/or. Or as you say even better.. Both (though I'd just settle for 'one of' at the minute  )

To be honest, i didnt rate him when he was here, he had a good half a season, and we got a good deal for him, exactly what happened with folan.
And why would i want akinfenwa up front? Or seb for that matter? Now your sounding like the crackers one.

I don't agree, though if you had said that in the first place I wouldn't have questioned what you put ;)

Britt Assombalonga went for £5.5 million,

Looks like we've missed the chance to sign him again!!

Well, his brother Christian Assombalonga has just signed for Dagenham from Waltham Abbey where he scored 31 in 34 apps least season.

Next stop league football with Peterborough??

That will be a typical John Still swoop.
God I hate this league.

Getting away from Chexit for some light relief! I note the O'Shea to Pompey is back on the agenda. Claims that they have made another bid

Is that the Bolly (sorry Gboly) who has yet to sign a contract extension, and who therefore will have to be sold at a knockdown price before the season is out (or even before it starts)

I thought Simons was initially signed on a two year deal and, as such, assumed he has now been offered improved terms.
