I understand Sharman scored 100 goals one season playing as a forward in junior football - according to Rawson's dad when I was talking to him at a game.

He scored 65 and luke got 60 one year

Do you happen to know whether they were courted by bigger clubs? It is a real step forward if they were but turned down the approaches. The Academy/Youth set up is the one area which is thriving in spite of everything.

Yes Jamie could have chosen Sheff Utd/Wednesday Rotherham or Derby in the time he was at chesterfield town but wasn't interested
Luke has had trial days at Sheff Utd/Wednesday and chesterfield at u10s
He joined chesterfield at u15s and he recommended Jamie to come along at u16s he did and signed after a successful trial

5 or so years ago chesterfield academy used to lose at most age groups to the likes of Rotherham, Sheff united, donny, and Wednesday.
Nowdays they very rarely lose to these so called bigger teams at all age groups, so I think the academy can now attract the local players.
This can only be good for the future of the club

It would be a nice gesture by the club to run a coach to Swansea. Cat 1 Academy, Premier League ground, cup game. I'm up for it.

It would be nice but it will probably be midweek and it's a long trek I don't think they would get much interest

It might be 3pm on Saturday 16th December as Swansea don't play until Monday night, it would be a more attractive trip than going to Wycombe

I can't weigh Willock up. Lovely lad, Tony Brien pace, two footed, very aggressive.....

DORCHESTER TOWN 4 - 1 KETTERING TOWN

Baghdadi fired wide again on 71 minutes and Marshall Willock came on for Toseland a minute later. Two minutes later, Willock was back in the changing rooms after a tackle on the halfway line – adjudged by the Referee to be reckless.

You have to say he looks like an accident waiting to happen from what we have seen. You can't go in like Darren Carr anymore.

Update on Youth Team Saturday- 2 down at home to York early on - goal machine Rawson brings it back to 2-2 before halftime. Town run out 5-3 winners. Jack at game up to half -time and he must be thinking that some of these lads have a chance. I hope he's here long enough to see it.

I know nowt about disciplinary rules at that level, but I hope he's not dumped himself out of the cup tie at Swansea.

The fourth round draw has been made, if we beat Swansea it's Huddersfield or Fulham at home

Bumping this thread, I see Blackpool are in the semi final of the FA Youth Cup
http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/43421569
Per the BBC: ‘Blackpool tend to target the bigger clubs' cast-offs’.
To update, the first leg with Arsenal was a 2-2 draw.
Just thought it’s an amazing success story in the face of adversity.
