It was a good post however, the vaccinated can still get it and infect others, so.............

True, so even those who have had both jabs should still take care to avoid infecting others.

I'm a herd immunity kind of bloke, infecting others is part way to reducing the effect, although yes not good if someone dies as a result of irresponsible infection.

We see thousands of new infections daily with very few needing hospital admission to treat it.

When it first hit, the elderly and co-morbidity folk were getting hospitalised left right and centre and many succumbed.

In the hospital where I work we had loads of Covid positive patients, with the odd few in ITU needing ventilation.

Now, we get low single digits coming in with purely Covid as a presenting complaint and very, very few end up needing ITU support or admission.

I think the purely from Covid death rate is 0.05% (nationally).

You're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

That's how all Vaccines work, they just reduce symptoms the good news is whatever vax people get its extremely low death rate. From what a couple of GPs I know have said its here to stay [like the flu] and they'll be boosters available each year (probably with the flu jab).

That's going to be virtually impossible for both parties, I wonder what the club have in mind when stadium re opens for general use, will any protocols remain in place irrespective of government guidelines imminently to be announced.
God I hate this league.

If you’re a double jabbed over 60 do you really want to be sitting next to a load of unvaccinated under 25s?

If you didn’t think they’d do any good why would you have had the jabs?

Cos I'm most likely to catch it from unjabbed U25 year olds so they would protect me.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Oh, they obviously work, but you can still catch it and you’re far more likely to catch it from someone unvaccinated

Maybe let the ones refusing to have the jab the North Stand

This thread a prime example of how conspiracy nonsense seeps into mainstream consciousness

I got to learn a fair bit more this weekend about rna mutation and it's effects on covid within the UK and elsewhere staying with a couple who have doctorates and are working in biomedical science.
The most interesting thing was to learn that the US (or US companies) had been funding work in the labs in wuhan leading up to the outbreak. Now, to all you conspiracy theorists out there, does this suggest that trump actually knew more about the origin of the outbreak than we think he did or was his continual blaming of everything on China an attempt to try and cover up US involvement?

The man didn't know what day it was, let alone be part of a conspiracy of that magnitude. I'm still surprised he didn't suggest building a wall down the centre of the Pacific Ocean to stop the virus!Posted Image

I believe they have done enough testing, the main concern if any is that it usually takes 5-10 years so you can then see any longer term side effects.

My argument to this is everyone's getting the vaccine so even if we grew a third arm in 3 years time all the scientists in the world will be looking for a cure for that too lol

LOL, yeah if that was a side effect I think I'd be okay with it, my point was it's had to be rushed but hopefully we won't end up with horrific side effects.
