Apologies if this has been answered already but does anyone know if streaming will continue in 21/22 ?

Just thinking that with the continued risk of people having to isolate or the prospect of vaccine passports being introduced and people not all being fully vaccinated, should this be continued?

No it won't, I asked the club and was told as soon as fans back, it stops. Shame as it would boost revenue for exiles, people unable to attend etc

If BT change their minds, who knows?

I think they should reconsider otherwise you can envisage people risking it when they should be isolating.

It’s nothing to do with the club. It’s BTs call who own the rights

It would be good for exiles etc but there’s plenty of locals who’d buy a ticket for a tenner and get all their mates round to watch rather than pay to go to the game. . Makes no financial sense for the club to continue streaming.

Ok with me as long as it’s the same price as a match ticket and no sharing log ins

It's a shame but I get it, be good if all the club's banned together and just dols their own streams in the future.

Problem is most leagues are run by the very old school mentality that think TV channels are the best way when in reality if they set up their own streaming service they could keep more of the money, charge less and make more...

Imagine if the PL charged £10/month for streaming of all matches Most would do that. But they'd rather line to pockets of the big 6 (on of which is on the PL board) than increase money for all the club's and make it cheaper for the fans.

Wouldn’t that simply increase the gulf between the Greedy Six and the rest, as they sell many times more tenners per month than the others? Man U claim to have a billion fans. Can’t see the likes of Burnley or Palace competing in stream sales, even if the truth is a fraction of that.

Or have I misunderstood and you are advocating the Prem selling its streaming rights collectively, without a broadcaster involved? Imagine the squeal-fest the likes of G Neville and Carragher would be paid by Sky to indulge in if that happened.

As technology becomes more refined, perhaps one day we might see streaming for people who live outside a certain radius of the ground.

I live 170 miles away and would be very happy to pay a tenner for continuing streaming. However, I fail to see what advantage the club might gain from four mates sharing a settee in Chesterfield when they should be at the game.

I would rather be there myself but spending £80 on a non league game is a big ask.

Yes, but where do you draw the line? How many miles? Could I watch it in Belper or do I need to move slightly further south?

I said a premier league pass not individual clubs, basically a premier league Netflix. This would actually make it fairer as "the greedy 6" get a higher % now

I know in Italy they did it with away matches.

In the states things like College basketball etc only go on tv if they've sold enough tickets

That's a good question. I think you might have to move house....
I was really making the point that at the moment streaming is either for everyone or not at all - both with inherent disadvantages.
Streaming would result in smaller attendances but make those of us who live far away very happy.
I said this on FB and a bloke said I was being selfish. Still trying to work that one out.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I think many people on Facebook use it as overflow for their own instinct-driven thoughts. Amazing to think that they have some linguistic capability and can survive in a society, but I suppose 250,000 years of human evolution is not going to take us forwards in every direction.

The mail (I know, pinch of salt) reporting that vaccine passports may be required to access stadia in the autumn. With some unable to vaccinate and with people still required to isolate or feeling nervous about attending my thought was maybe BT should allow streaming to continue for the coming season.

I'd say if your 100 miles away or more you should beable to subscribe for a season stream pass. The club could send you a user name and password through the post to the registered address for the season.
Here we go again!

Easily get round it by registering with a friend or family's address who just passes the details on to you.

What would the demand be now that people are back in the ground? I think there would be some but possibly not enough to make it viable. I say that as someone who would use it a lot and did so during lockdown.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Can't it be seen where you log in from though? If its not at the registered address (or within proximity of it) then cut em off
