Good to hear that Denton is unlikely to go out on loan now.

Is it reasonable to speculate that JR will want to get any outstanding transfer business done before the start of the training camp?
I personally can't see the need for much more incoming business other than a goalie, unless he thinks Mitchell can't contribute. Even then we've got 4 strikers:- Tyson, Rowe, Denton, Payne.

I think we still need a right sided CB given we played 3 left footers last night, Hollis is a left footer too so Kerr is our only RCB I think?!

But there comes a time when the budget isn't being spent wisely, the squad gets too big, and good players aren't getting a game.

Apart from Dents and Rowe have we got anybody who will score on a regular basis until Asante returns.

When Asante was injured Mandeville scored a few important goals for us. Going by memory he scored against Halifax that put us into the play offs and against Notts County. He also opened the scoring against Matlock which suggests that he’s playing further forward with confidence.
Mandeville will be a big player for us this season.

According to Wiki, Payne has scored 7 goals in his last 57 appearances over 3 years. I think he's very much a 'hold it up and try to spot runners man'. Another O'Grady and, to be fair, a crucial cog in the wheel if he's on form.
To get in the team he'll have to show attributes which are superior to Denton, otherwise he won't.

If his past career’s anything to go by, he will be on his way elsewhere by Christmas, either on loan or paid off, having fallen out with the manager/fans.

Don't forget one of our best players in recent times, Jack Lester, played on the edge most of the time, was always into a niggle, and close to a booking or sending off on a regular basis. I loved him when he played for us but I hated him when he previously played against us.
We don't know the nature of the contract Stefan is on but if he can fill in successfully until Asante is fully fit he will have been a worthwhile signing.
