Calling from abroad

Saw loads of snow on the telly (round our way) on Sky. Will the Donny game be off or is there a chance it will clear?

Hopefully it will clear....or be cleared....weather forcast for next couple of days is favourable with plus figures and light rain so theres is a better than good chance of it being on i would of thought
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Its icy just now but after this morning not suppose to be bad up to kick off. Some rain forecast today I live in Brim Common and we got about 4 inch but down at ground there's probably only about 2 inch.

"ARCTIC" weather....not sure what forecast you are looking at but the BBC weather supplied by the Met office has it as chilly and the odd bit of rain but nothing you'd remotely call "ARCTIC"....unless you are getting your weather forecasts from the Daily Mail!!

Acoording to peak 107 report at 09-40am ,the game is in the balance at the moment, surrounding road conditions, car parking areas supporters safety, all considerations.Me thinks an early pitch inspection tommorow should decide it.

Not saying you are wrong at all with that statement, I agree that will probably be the case, but can you imagine the uproar if Tesco saw the match was cancelled, due to 'surrounding areas' being a bit slippy, and decided to shut down for the day. There would be rioting in the streets!! If Tesco are open then the area surrounding the proact is safe for fans in my opinion.

As mentioned we ignored them to play a game last season after getting things clear so with the forecast looking to be on our side i suspect the game will be fine tomorrow.

That is an extremely valid point but, unfortunately, will have little influence on a decision on the match.

It's thawing very well around Newton and Alfreton at the moment, and the difference between road and weather conditions between now and 8 this morning is very noticeable . Saying that a bit more snow/rain is forcast for later this evening, but hopefully not too much. The one thing slightly in our favour is the game doesn't have to be called off until late morning because of the closeness of Doncaster, rather than a decsion late today or early in the morning for someone like Swindon or Gillingham.
On a side note can anybody remember a home game v Colchester, say early 90s called off at about 7am due to heavy frost when at ko time it was liked lovely spring day and the team had a practice match on the pitch?

I have no concerns regarding the surrounding road conditions and the surrounding areas as I know the council will be giving us all value for money, moving heaven and earth to spend my 1000+ pounds a year council tax wisely by clearing the snow away in time for the game. I'm just off for a walk as I ain't driving because I can't get off the estate.......#couciltaxrebate

Forecast of 3 degrees today (more in the sun) and the same tomorrow with no overnight frost. No reason the game should be off if the Club want it on.
They may be busy selling players but there ought to be an appeal for volunteers to clear the pitch/car parks. Postponed games cost loads and we are on a bit of a run.

Yes the BBC weather app forcast has just improved as well, lows of just 1 tonight rather than the -1 it was forcasting earlier and the late night sleet/ snow is now showing as rain. Also like I said earlier it's thawing like mad here in Newton.

Not shifting here in North Wingfield. And even if it does reach a balmy 1 degree overnight, its hardly rapid thaw time. The game's doubtful.

As long as the pitch is clear and playable there should be no reason to call the game off, just make sure any steps and outdoor concourses are ok. As for outside the ground, footpaths and car parks, people go outside on cold, icy, snowy days fully accepting the possibility they might slip and fall at some point. At least that's how reasonable grown ups should look at it.

Just up the hill across from the ground and the snow that's in the sun is melting quite quickly. Don't think there'll be much problem.

Yep plus the overnight forecast rain that may be snow on higher ground but not where the Proact is will help a lot.
