As long as the pitch is clear and playable there should be no reason to call the game off, just make sure any steps and outdoor concourses are ok. As for outside the ground, footpaths and car parks, people go outside on cold, icy, snowy days fully accepting the possibility they might slip and fall at some point. At least that's how reasonable grown ups should look at it.

No point in advocating being 'reasonable' and 'grown up,' its a nanny state's obsession with Health and Safety we're talking about here...

At the ground now. Pitch clearing underway and the snow is almost melted. Can't see how it won't be on as things stand.

In Bakewell everything is melting so quick the bigger danger would seem to be a waterlogged pitch.

My car has been parked in the direct sun at work all morning and was saying it was 10c when i got in it....it soon dropped to about 5c but any snow in the direct sun will be thawing nicely if thats anything to go by. Went past the doctors surgery at the end of Storrs Rd and water was rushing down their roof as the snow melted.

If they are clearing the pitch before it melts then that shouldnt be an issue even without the fact our pitch appears to be like a sieve when it comes to dealing with water!

I don't know, I only peeked in the gate on my way round to the Hub a couple of hours ago.

Update on the club twitter.....looks like the covers are on at the Kop end but the rest of the pitch is uncovered under the snow.

I can confirm that a bl00dy gre't tractor with a snowplough attachment made me swerve out the way when it entered the Proact car park around two!
