Figures published today reveal Spurs have claimed a staggering £175m from the government. This wants remembering when they splash out on the next superstar!
East stand second class citizen.

It's now saying they borrowed the money at 0.5% interest.

Nice to think Chesterfield tax payers are contributing to Spurs’ success (or failure)

In law, Spurs are a separate legal entity from their owner so regardless of how rich he might be they are legally entitled to claim under the policies put in place to protect employment. £175m sounds too much to be a claim for furloughed wages with a £2500 cap, so its going to be a loan and they are as entitled as anyone. And just remember if you work for a PLC your company is probably in part owned by really wealthy investment funds. If you work for a private company you might have a rich owner - should he not be able to claim? And on that basis if you own your own house you could have a fair chunk of assets so should you not qualify? Where do you draw the line?

An impossible conundrum but I am sure everyone (except Arsenal fans and those who hate football) would dislike professional clubs to go bust because of the virus, with the impact on so many people who work there and live for Saturday afternoons following their team....
Stay Home. Stay Safe.
