It's wrong it's factually wrong, because Eckington is not in Sheffield. We are not geographically dictated to by the Post Office otherwise Chesterfield would be in Sheffield wouldn't it?

So if I lived in eckington I couldn't put 1 High Street, Eckington, Derbyshire etc.

Only an idiot would put 1 High Street, Eckington, Sheffield, Derbyshire. Etc.

You don't seem to understand what a Royal Mail postal address actually is.

You're arguing something different altogether.

Only an idiot would risk delaying his mail, if he missed off the postal code as per your example the item would probably end up amongst Derby's mail

Didn't RpL work for the post office?
This thread may have been the one where he could have spoken some sense or with authority!

Then there are places like Whitwell and Creswell who have postal addresses that that say Worksop Notts and Shirebrook and others that say Mansfield Notts.

Surely as these places are in Derbyshire their postal address should say Detbyshire. Gets my goat.

No they're not, although they're under Bolsover council, they are in Nottinghamshire

We apparently don't live in chesterfield , although we live on a housing estate in Walton. Live in N E Derbyshire - bottom of the garden is in Chesterfield . And it's a small garden . Still put chesterfield on our letters though and they all seem to make it
"Its much more important than that !"

And the post code for Chesterfield is.......Hmmm?

The postcodes for Buxton and surrounding villages start with SK, for Stockport. This problem isn't unique to Chesterfield

Whitwell, Creswell and Shirebrook are all Derbyshire Towns/Villages Marcia.

Nothing to do with the local authority.
