On Sunday 18th December the Community Trust will launch their first ever Christmas tree festival alongside a Christmas fayre.

There will be santa and reindeers as well as the event being opened by the Mayor of Chesterfield.

There will be festive crafts and games in Chesters Den as well as lots of other festive happenings. A festive menu will be in place at the cafe.

To close the day there will be a memorial service with the spirelights lighting up the memorial garden in memory of loved ones.

If you would like to have a tree for your business or organisation the cost is £25 per plot.

Stalls are £15 a stall.

Or £35 if you had both.

The big event day will be 2pm - 7pm.

The trees will be staying Monday Tieaday and Wednesday as well for schools to visit.

If you'd like any info or a tree or a stall or a trip visit please email

community@chesterfield-fc.co.uk or call 01246 264030.

This is a charity event run by Chesterfield FC Community Trust.

This is the first good bit of news I've read on here today.
I'm heading home on the tube, almost in tears at what this whole sorry debacle is forcing hard-working, loyal fans to contemplate - boycots and protests.
All I can say is that at least Rachel and the Community Trust team are keeping alive the values that the club has always held dear.

That is lovely of you to say, thank you.

The whole Trust team are great to work with and we hope that this will be a great family event for everyone to enjoy and with just one week to go until Christmas, I am sure everyone will be in good spirits.

Thank again x

Can the trust get rid of Chris Turnipe. What involvement does he have? I would love to believe in the trust. I do believe in the other trustees but as long as Turnipe is involved bearing in mind the last few days months and years it's difficult. What is his input and remit as a trustee??

In line with most other clubs across the football league, the CEO is a voluntary trustee of the trust attached to the Club. If you need to know more about the role of a charity trustee there is lots of info on the internet.

I really hope you support the work that we do in the community.

Thank you :)

I do support it and want it to achieve. I'm just concerned that Chris Turner has owt to do with it bearing in mind his disastrous record running CFC. As long as you don't put him in charge of any raffles you might just be ok. Good luck you might need it!

Sounds great Rachael, have you done any flyers for the event so that we can help promote it ?. The trust is doing some brilliant work and deserves more exposure for the work that it does

Flyers being deigned this week and sent off to the printers next week.

Will be in the Derbyshire Times soon too.

If anyone knows a business that may like a bit of festive exposure, with (hopefully!) a great footfall please ask them if they would like a tree. The more creative they are with the decor the better :-)

Also any crafty people want a stall there is plenty of space but you need your own table.

Santa and reindeers will also be in attendance for approx two hours 3-5.

Hope it is well supported and thank you!!
