We sack DS and have to pay him off. We then replace BUT WE ARE LEFT WITH THE SAME SQUAD.
Where''s the positive in that?
I'm bewildered by that one seeing as DW is the subject of this thread. I don't see the slightest connection seeing as the club's fortunes have spiralled down hill. Totally different senario to what is being asked - I'm not surprised though.

Danny took all the plaudits for keeping us up last season, despite inheriting what was largely accepted as a poor squad.
Now, with more than half a dozen of his own signings, (mainly first team starters when fit) he seems absolved from blame for having his hands tied?
By that reckoning, Saunders kept us up last season surely?
Sorry, but for me, DW has to accept a decent portion of the blame for this seasons failings, on the field.
FWIW, following the theme of the I don't want to see him resign (nor do I think he will, why would he? ££) but as manager he is responsible for tactics, substitutions and man-managing the players.

Connor Wilkinson to a long term injury which means we possibly will not see what havoc those two could have caused to try and keep us in this division
That is just bad luck on Dannys part because it is him that has tried to put that partnership together

Which of Saunders' signings kept us up, 'SS'?
Novak, probably, yet it could be argued he only came good after Wilson took over. Donohue? Well yeah, but that was at left full back when Saunders recruited him as a midfielder. I guess at a push we might say Banks, handed an extension by Saunders when previously on his way out. However he was hardly signed by the Welshman.
I do agree that Wilson shoulders blame for what often looks like an unfit team and defensive tactics. I'd maintain he's still faced with a 'mend and make do' scenario given budget cuts and what's tied up in injured or simply sub-standard players, though.
