Agree getting an Uber from Sheffield to Chesterfield isnt an issue but i thought Westbars was referring to one from chesterfield to Bolsover.

Just had a play in the app and quotes me £19 to £27 for an UberX from Sheffield Tap to my house at the top end of Brampton. Not that unreasonable to be fair and whilst potentially a touch more expensive than getting one of the black cabs outside the station you'd have less hassle over payment etc as can happen with the black cab drivers at times.

There's definitely one knocking around and the letter from Barclaycard was headed 'Uber is now in Chesterfield'.

Why would you book an Uber from Sheffield, or anywhere in particular? Don't you just ask for a journey and it either says yes or no?

In theory Uber has to be operating in your area and in reality it was only really main cities in the UK. Whenever i'd looked previously for chesterfield it showed cars in Sheffield but nothing local. If you tried to book a trip it would say there were no cars available or something like that. That said i've not looked for ages.

Yep but if an Uber is booked in sheffield he can go anywhere (it's only that they can only pick up from their licenced area).
Like Black Cabs in London- they can only pick up in TFL areas but can drive anywhere once booked.
