Shock there is an error on the results page where it claims 100% were in support of 5 leagues consisting of 80 teams expansion. 🙄

I love this bit:

The most important people in football are the supporters, without the supporters there is no football. The EFL have got to listen to the supporters because they're the people who support the club, pay through the gates and they're an essential voice for any changes in the game.

Survey Results:

Which pretty much say 'leave things as they are" (except for the EFL trophy)

Let's hope the options for question 2 were a typo:

Quote

2. Would you support the expansion of the EFL to 80 teams (from its current 72)?

- Yes, I would support this expansion 20%
- Yes, I would support this expansion 80%

lets hope the consensus to question 3 is the same at all the other clubs. If you are going to expand the leagues fill it with teams that matter, and not Premier League reserves or sunday league Scottish teams

3. If new teams were introduced to the EFL pyramid, where should they come from?

- The National League 96%
- Premier League under 23 or B teams 0%
- Teams from Scotland or Wales 4%

Not sure what I am more amazed at, the lack of participants in the survey or that up to 20% supported those crazy proposals.

Jokes aside, who on earth would vote for less games?

577 is about 10% of our home support (ish!!) and 20% of that equates just over 100 fans.

it will be interesting to see how the vote compares on the whole, versus our results.

Intersting article from yesterday, where the Yoevil chairman is now backing the proposed changes after initially being suspicious of them, despite being one of the few who voted for the EFL Trophy changes in the summer!:

Walsall (a club often compared to ourselves) have had over 600 entrants to their survey, and their fans have until 30th September to complete theirs.

With idiots like that, not to mention the likes of Turner voting tomorrow I can see these plans going through. Worrying remark from Turner, re cash from the premier league. I can hear him salivating from here over the thought of $$$.

The one good thing is I can't see why the premier league would put a significant cash injection into the EPL for these proposals alone.

He wont be the only one thinking that...the right sort of money sloshing around will turn the heads of plenty.

Portsmouth had 1300 which they were happy with, not surprisingly results were almost identical to ours

Of all the views given by fans on various issues over the past year and this is the one he decides to respond on. One that affects all clubs and nothing to do with the views on everything else that directly affects us and only us etc

Also to be noted is his comment

"The only thing that might give it a chance of being passed is money from the Premier League. If they throw money in some shape or form at some of the proposals then that does change the minds of non-football people in the game.

As back in June after stating he initially opposed the proposals for the EFL trophy changes he said

“The Premier League supports the EFL massively and I think the feeling was that we should go with their suggestion for one season. There is some additional prize money from the Premiership, too"

"Now that the decision has been made, we all have to get behind the new format and try to make it a success.”

This leaves little doubt in my mind he'll vote for the changes in exchange for the premier league wonga as a "football person" would have wanted the B team/U21/U23 trial this season to fail

Well it's a safe subject for him to observe and listen to the club's fans.
