Wow! Thanks everyone!

I'm going to go through all these and draw them. These are the types I'm wanting. I want the type of player you would only think of of you support the club.

Thank you all for your contributions, kind words and support.

Made me laugh looking through them all and a brilliant cause to boot.
Good luck with them all, haha

EDIT: I'll make you a donation when you do the player I used to get nicknamed after many moons ago (and I'm not saying who it is either :sunglasses )

Ha. That's actually got me thinking who?

Some of you may have already seen it, but I am raising money for #TeamErnie @DementiaUK by attempting to (badly) draw as many -hopefully all 1004+- Chesterfield players. So far I have drawn (badly) over 300 players and am posting them on Twitter @badlydrawnspire and Facebook.

Various players have been having a laugh with them and are being great sports, including Ian Evatt, Charlie Raglan, Gboly Ariyibi, Tommy Lee, Paul Lemon, Chris Marples, Angel Martinez, Tom Curtis, Peter Leven, Liam Cooper to name but a few. Ernie's daughter has given this the thumbs up and has been brilliant, as has the club.

You can read a bit more about it here, on my blog:

BadlyDrawnSpires – Can you guess?
https://badlydrawnsp....wordpress.com/

You can donate to JustGiving on Twitter and Facebook, but really I am hoping to sell prints, T-Shirts, mugs, etc when they are all finished.

It's for a great cause whilst having a bit of fun. If you do nothing else, please check it out.

Thank you.

These are just great. Kids should be swapping these in the playground. I'll be donating, and if you get it together I'd love an Albert Holmes mug. Beautiful stuff.

Pompey lurker who's kept an eye on here since we were linked with Cook. Dementia/Alzheimer's are bast@rds and took my old man prematurely earlier in the year.

Great work - looks like you've got Talbot down to a tee. I'll chuck you a tenner through Just Giving - suspect we owe it through 'image rights'. Keep it up!

Thank you.

Albert Holmes was an early one I drew (not posted yet). His hair seemed a different style each photo and it's picking which is the most recognisable. Especially with him being a favourite. Some pictures I can have more fun with. Alan Jones, for instance. I had two pictures of him and on one he had a funny look on his face, so that was perfect.

I'm so pleased you posted here. I saw your donation 'From Fratton Park' and was touched. All the donations mean so much to me and would love to thank each and everyone individually, but I will no doubt miss people out unintentionally. Thank you so much.

Do I detect a hint of Beavis and Butthead in Connor Dimaio? Keep us posted about mugs and spinoffs.

Ha ha. Not intentionally, but you aren't the first to say it. I love Mike Judge's work, though. So I will take that as a huge compliment.

And also, I just had the notification through. Thank you so much!

This sort of stuff, as well as the work that James Muddiman does would make great pieces to brighten up the concourse areas.

Great work, BTW.

Was Albert Holmes hair a bit like Bobby Charltons at one stage? It is a long time ago but that is how I remember him.

I think Albert had short blond hair, not bald

Thank you. That wouldn't be a bad idea. A little embarrassing for me, maybe, but I get what you're saying. I like it.

I don't recall any bald ones. Maybe he had just done something different on some photos. What I want to do is capture them as they are most remembered. Steve Spooner, for example, looked quite different in the mid 90s when I mostly remember him than he did in his fist spell here. But, the best photos are the later ones.

I didn't word it very well. I meant I don't recall any bald pictures of Albert Holmes. Sorry.

Yeah, I've done Rodney Fern and Keith Kettleborough. Also, Iain Dunn and Derek Niven. None, though, were as much fun to draw as Danny Whitaker. That bloke must be a cartoonists dream!
