Said Dean Saunders last week.

So who in your years watching CFC is the laziest player youve seen, and can anyone remember any particular examples of extreme laziness on the football field?

Jamie Winter sprung to mind, but that might have more to do with physical condition

To answer my own second question but not CFC, I remember Nigel Worthington marking one of the posts for Wednesday v Man U when Steve Bruce scored from a corner.
Worthington stood there nonchalantly, leaning on the post and watched the ball sail over his head. A simple jump of about 8 inches would have headed it off the line.

Conlon and Gritton were both lazy I reckon.

He's on about players that don't continually strive to improve or maintain the highest standards as professionals. You don't get laziness on the field 'cos a manager won't allow it. I suppose that players who don't get on the ball very much could be construed as lazy.

It was just a way to start a discussion, rather than use his words literally. Today's footballers are just so boring, someone must have some lazy footballer stories from 70s and 80s

Add in the forward who fits neatly into the 'panic buy' category.
We're on our way

The pineapple!! 1goal all the time he was here and couldn't tackle for toffee. By the time he got back to the halfway line after his first abysmal attempt the final whistle had been blown!!

Glen hoddle was asked about his career and the interviewer said " you were often described as some what of a luxury player, what do you think of that? "

Hoddle replied " well i never gave the ball away players that give the ball away are what i would describe as luxury"...could not agree more.

In my ignorance, I used to call Allott lazy - he was so paranoid about giving the ball away that he used to give it to the man outside him far too early, when he could have run 10 yards with it to commit the fullback, before passing. As a result, the fullback never had to worry about a 2 v 1 overload.

Interviewer: "Now, could you describe yourself in three words for me?"

Me: "Lazy."
