Before anyone posts in other news titanic sunk etc. I havent read the board tonight as I have not long since got in from work an can't be assed to read every thread!

On my way home from dee dah land I listened to football heaven and donkey rovers manager bemoaning how he had shook Bennett's hand on a deal only to find out a certain Mr Cook had lured him to Portsmouth...

Snake, Judas call him what you want but with Bennett down the right and possibly (hopefully not) roberts left and (hopefully not)Jimmy in the middle he knows what it will take to get them promoted...i am peed off coz I would have liked Bennett here!

But also sticking a wedge on Portsmouth to go up... :angry

Was 9/1 to win the league before Cook was announced as manager, currently 5/1. Think I was wise putting a tenner on each way as early as possible.

Was 14/1 to win the league, then went to 16/1 when Saunders was appointed.

Hmmmm and the bookies are rarely wrong as 33/1 to 1/3 for cook to Portsmouth demonstrates....what price are we for relegation?

(And before the reds start its only business)

Only got to league winners on skybet so far.

Wouldn't say they are rarely wrong, it's easier to set odds for a manager due to inside information etc. Sheffield United are favourites to win league one at 7/1.

Tbf you don't need a crystal ball to say a club with a circa £6 million playing budget and squad of 30 + just minght be near the top of the division!

Be interesting to see who are favourites if preston dont go up!

To be fair I can't see beyond pompy in div 2 but 5/1 now is an awful price...

Well I hope they are wrong regarding our division. Probably not the first time sheff u have been favourites.

I'd think with Cookie in charge Portsmouth will walk league two.

Bristol rovers, Plymouth, Southend if they don't go up.

Could be a case of here's what you could have won. Cook's signings will imo be largely those who would be playing for us next season with the desired backing: Bennett, Ryan, Roberts, Stevens for starters

Well, we couldn't afford it, why not accept that and move on. Pompey have written off their debts and get gates more than double ours; of course their budget will be higher than ours. Chelsea and Man City's budget are also higher than ours and equally as relevant!

Pompey have been favourites to win League 2 at the start of every season. Was like when Bradford were there.

Enda, not Edna...... I don't know which Stevens it is, though.

Has Bennett officially signed for Pompey yet?
