You might find it isn't a very big money bid but enough to convince the money man that efforts are being made...

Think we found who made that derisory offer lol....

That was a PR bid that they knew had no chance of success but they can tell their supporters that they are very ambitious and bidding for the best players without actually having to put their hands into their pockets. We could do the same by bidding 100k for Wayne Rooney. Their supporters are surely not naive enough to believe it was a serious bid.

Will we go into the new season with the worst squad in living memory?

How many times has that been said. Think we need to wait until July to start the thread

Newspaper websites are a problem with ads. Which blocker do you use? I put one on my mobile but guys in phone shop reckon they are useless.

I just use AdBlock in Chrome on my PC but think you can get it for Firefox as well. I've got an iPhone and there are some that claim to work but its more a case of accessing the net via a proxy the app or whatever sends you through. Generally if i come across a website that is hard to use due to ads it just makes me not really use it!

I'm actually going to say something I hope a lot of you agree with.

Wigan Athletic are NOT a big club. Bank rolled for years since the old Spingfield Park days.

Not a good move for him, not one for you.

He'd be an idiot to go there IMO.

If Wigan sink through this division as they've done the Championship they'll be back down to 5k crowds in no time.

Only in your own head Mercury.

As Phil says a lot will remember the days when they barely got 2,000 and contributed very little to the FL full stop.

Coventry have shown this season how gates can plummet.

At least for Wigan that's the past and not the present like some tinpot outfits.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Maybe even less than that . I can remember standing on that massive Molleneux terrace watching town play there in front of 5000. I don't think many clubs are infalable to a dramatic gate loss.
