That is probably because Southampton is the cultural capital of that area, it has 2 proper universities and it is the headquarters for just about every organisation that need headquarters in that area.

It has an airport, a working seaport, a massive cricket stadium and of course a premiership football team

Although not photogenic it is a living city with a thriving football club unlike its neighbour that lives on past (and distant) glories

Ah! That's quite a compelling case you've put forward there Azul!

No wonder there is such a inferiority complex evident amongst the people in Portsmouth, watching the positivity that is the growing stature of such a nice city as Southampton while obviously Portsmouth being left in the wake.

I believe the correct term is the Scummers that the Pompey public use to describe their more successful rivals.

Was looking at a pic of players enjoying a holiday together on GR's twitter page. Wonder how long GR, JR and TD will be here. Reckon it will be Tommy Lee's 8th season with us come August.

Next you will be banging on about your 15k attendances 😴😴😴😴. How long you going to live off that? Get with it 16th in L2

People only go to your ground to watch the Accringtons, Exeter's and Daggers not Portsmouth. Cheaper than watching the saints 👍🏼

Hope Cook fails and you go down. I'd love that 😂

Heard we could be looking at Akinde from Barnet. If true would be a class signing.

Big strong lad. 30 plus goals last year. Not sure he's quite big enough for warfy though.

Was at Alfreton a year or two back so cant be talking massive wages.

Now him and Izale McLeod together and we're talking...

Neither really fit into Deanos way of playing though sadly. He didn't like McLeod even last year when he was still banging them in at Crawley as he ought he was too lazy

Maybe there was a reason for that?
Akinde never really proved himself at league level so a bit of a gamble.
