Could be out of a job too. Doesn't figure in DS's plans by the sound of it!

I hope not as the fitness side has seemed to be top notch over the last few years.

I should hope not. The teams fitness is nothing shirt of outstanding thanks to him.
He came into his own under Cookie. A true unsung hero in my book.

And he's paid peanuts so would make no sense. Mind you, he has no connection to Sheff Wednesday.
We're on our way

This is the issue with how some football clubs still recruit, move on good employees just to accommodate a change in manager, it's old fashioned and expensive.

I'll give you two examples:

Eric Nixon at the expense of Mark Crossley.

Gerry Carr at the expense of Dave Bentley.

I struggle to see the added value in those changes.

Crazy. Would be far better to say 'this how we play (note the style goes down to the youngest team under our umbrella)', have a team of coaches and specialists that buy into the style, and then when a manager moves on, he has to leave the coaching staff behind, and we just recruit another manager happy to go with our model.

Result: no expensive recruiting, paying off of contracts and an almost seamless change.

The club should say no.

It's not like there are football reasons for it. Fitness is fitness.

Agreed - our players have seemed to get stronger as the games have gone on, we have looked much fitter than most of our opponents, even our older players.

I wonder if he'll try to get Crossley back. Tommy could do with a proper coach.

Yes, come one CFC show some backbone! The squads fitness has been clear to see this season, why on earth would the club put that at risk just to pander to a new manager wanting "his own people"

Shinner has done a fantastic job, and it would be a massive loss if he were to leave the club. Fitness played such a big part in our success last year it'd make no sense to lose such an asset.

Plus I reckon he's still got a crackin left peg.

Easy way to sort it, shinner and Saunders do the Linacre run shinner wins he keeps his job and gets a reasonable pay rise and contract, Saunders wins shinner goes he will find another job easily.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.
