Poor old Matlock. Let's take the situation we find ourselves in today then think back to the Rushbury months upto his sacking. Feels better already.

In fairness, he's been picking up the points and he offers an element of continuity.

I have my longer term doubts however and I remember his reign at Saltergate; that's why I'm worried.

Perhaps Foster is the real manager and Rushbury is just holding the sponge

Whatever, the recent change of fortunes is impressive

Fantastic manager that he undoubtably is, and he tries to play football the right way, but wouldn't both Arsenal and Wenger himself benefit from a separating of ways to offer both a fresh challenge. Not that I'm an expert on either but it seems to have become very predictable at the Emirates these last season or so?

Wenger is too stubborn.

His leaving worked out rather better for Brentford than him.

Dave Whelan thinks Roberto martinez is god , Cooky is as far away from martinez as you can get, I can't see it and think Whelan will be on the phone to Roberto for advice.

Can't see them going for Cook, plenty of ex prem managers not in a job at the moment. Malky Mackay is the favourite.

I'd offer a large price on them being interested let alone him going.

Dave Whelan is a horrible old bounder

Saying that Rosler is a great bloke and great manager who has been unlucky with results

So why sack him then?

Whelan once broke his leg in the cup final, you wouldn't know though cos he never mentions it

Cant see why, Cook has not really proved himself outside of the bottom division. He needs to prove himself a success in L1 before he can go any higher.

True and as pleased as i am for Rowett (who did a cracking job with no money) Wigan have a multi millionaire owner who invests in the club.....Birmingham haven't! So i think Whelan may be after a 'bigger' more established name than Cook particularly after Rosler failed having had a similar pedigree with Brentford .

Damnation !!!!

Thought agent Rosler was doing a top job in speeding up Wigans ( or should I say Whelan's ) inevitable ultimate descent towards League 2

Anyway Brendan Rodgers might be available soon so hope springs eternal
