If its bearing the name of the town and it is the only way we keep football in the town, even if away from the Proact i'd back it.

I feel like that scenario is on the horizon as it doesn't seem much can be done to save CFC from the abyss.

Can also see why others wouldn't support a new club however

I wouldn't be interested in a Phoenix team personally. I would take my lad to watch Chester or Tranmere and he can decide who he wanted to support as he got older.

I'd say investigate how to go about launching a new club, whilst still trying/hoping for a change at CFC. No harm in preparing for the last resort, would certainly be an advantage for if/when the day comes that it is required. Despite the 150yr guff, this current CFC is just under a hundred years old. Chesterfield has seen several clubs formed and fold. For me the club is its fans, and if they formed a new club then that would be Chesterfield's football club in my eyes.

Pretty much my stance. This is really kicking my love of football, I don’t check the scores, no interest in any highlights programs, not really fussed about internationals.
I’ve put 40 years into supporting the club, if it goes I don’t think I will be bothered about starting over again, nothing will be the same.

Treatment for Phoenix clubs is very variable. Aldershot folded in mid season, had a bit of time to sort themselves out and ended up in non- league step 4 if I remember correctly whereas Maidstone honoured all their fixtures in the same season and found themselves in Kent league div 7 - Step 12(?).

I think if the club goes out of existence then I would definitely support a Phoenix club. I would have to get my footy fix from somewhere and going to Mansfield ,Sheffield or Derby would not be on the agenda.
