Judge to Rebekah Brooks "So you're telling me that phone hacking was rife at the Sun, you we're Chief Executive and you knew nothing about it?"

Brooks "Yes, your honour, Mr Coulson didn't tell me"

Judge "that would make you the most incompetent Chief Executive ever".

Brroks "yes your Honour, that's my defence"

Judge to Coulson "4 years for you my lad"

Judge to Brooks "Not guilty"

Brooks, the most incompetent Chief Executive ever reinstated by Murdoch.

Just sayin' like.

Clever post. Made me smile.

I suspect it was just down to Kevin Fitzgerald, if Chris Turner had known he would have had to go as well.
Seems so silly. everyone could tell that it was unlikely to attract many entrants, and when they only had 4 entries they should have just been honest and cancelled the competition. To claim the winner lived in Surrey and could not go because he was ill, and then claim he would instead attend hospitality at some stage just made the situation worse. How he expected to get away with it is beyond me.

As my Dad used to say when we were kids "If you tell a lie then you will eventually have to tell another, then another, then another.........".

Jim Brown (as honest as they come), should be in soul charge of the Commercial team. He's the one man and only man I trust at the Club, and he played a massive part in helping to save our great Club in the DB days.

I was ashamed when I saw that on the bbc sports website this morning. 16 years since DB and its happening all over again. I just hope it doesn't end in the same way. The buck shouldn't stop with Fitzgerald though. Carson and Turner should go. Between them over the last few months (at least), they have made CFC a laughing stock. I sincerely hope DA isn't another DB, but as long as he keeps backing turner and carson then the signs aren't good. shameful times....again.

Apply to Chris turner for the job he got someone sacked from. This guy's got more front than Lolo Ferrari.

Apply to Chris Turner, what joke. Does he know about this? He appears to know nothing about anything else going on at the club

The Club still don't get it, do they.

Here we are yet again being expected to believe that Turner was just some dumb bystander whilst questionable events took place.

Yet even the advert for the position recently vacated by supposed 'rogue employee' Fitzgerald clearly states the holder is answerable to the CEO.

Y'know, I was ready to apologise to Ashley Carson for doubting he'd take decisive action and applaud him for doing so.

However I can't help thinking we're having our intelligence insulted all over again...

Not wasted anytime advertising. I like the irony of the autonomous bit. There's autonomy and there's autonomy but it needs to be managed.

Well done Mark and Nigel! Very good on camera boys and well constructed piece from look north.
Kinda brings it home what a total cock up that's been made.
I refuse however, to believe that it was all KF's fault.
He took it upon himself to get two statements released, commit fraud, and then we're all told the CEO knew nothing about it.
Righto.

Watched it now very good, think i was one of first to ask Mark if he was James, and Nige we certainly don't want them times back 16 years ago, to be honest i hadn't a clue what was happening saw Brown in the stand v Colchester when i first returned to the terraces and i thought great Championship here we come, then again the 5 year plan nearly fooled me, it must be a South Yorkshire thing....

It's a guess on my part that Coakley might have been approached when Alan Stevenson left. He certainly recommended KF for the job here.

You can apply, but you know it'll end up being 'one of their own'.
