My guess is that he said we are "past the point of no return" - but being in the Sun it has to be absolute cock

Is it though?

Played 36 with 31 points. 0.8 per game. 10 games left - looking at 39 total. Grimsby have 37 already.

We need to go from relegation form to promotion form for our last 10 games.

You can see why some might think it’s too late.
A new hope.

As few as 15 points could be enough especially of strategically gained - that isn't promotion form

We just need to hope other games keep going our way and looking at the run-ins I wouldn't bet against it

Do I think we will get these 15 points - I wouldn't bet on it

Not sure how a side can be past the point of no return when sitting 6 adrift with 30 to play for. And due to play those sides that are there to be shot at.

Last three games for us has yielded 4 points. Last three for Grimsby has yielded 1.

Not sure we're totally written off just yet.

5 wins out of 10? 2 points per game? Or 92 over a season.

That’s promotion form

At this point in time, if we escape, it won't even qualify as a "the great escape" to the wider world

Maybe the faithful will see it that way as we all know how bad we are playing at the moment

From the Crawley win to the Barnet win last Autumn we went on a W3 D3 L1 streak when prior to that things looked utterly hopeless. That record repeated should see us in a strong position to survive. It might surprise us but it would hardly be earth shattering

A win 3 draw 3 lose 1 would be a magnificent run just at the right time.

I’m not confident we can do it though
