one of dave allen's better moves has been the appointment of martin allen and I say this before a competitive game takes place under the new boss. a new board would do well to leave martin to get on with the job he is employed to do, he does not need a director of football, the football club does not need one, we have a good manager who can do the job, he needs another striker and by the looks of it we have one poised to sign, now if the new boards first act is to stall transfers and install an unnecessary director of football whilst upsetting a manager who has done nothing but impress since he arrived, I for one would want to know why.

MAD DOGS BARMY ARMY

Just depends what that directors remit it, his remit could expand very quickly. AC staying on as Company secretary to produce this years accounts could be blown away if he ends up being banned from football activities and thats the rumour ALLEDGEDLY.
God I hate this league.

I'm left thinking these people are a front for someone else. But who?

They could be genuine guys feeling the water, we have to wait and see how they go and how MA and they get on. There's an obvious air of mistrust about with Reg Brealey being mentioned and these guys history. DA obviously likes the deal but maybe his thinking is without the leagues monies anymore he has to step back along with AC in the hope that the fans return. For sure match day income has to improve because don't forget DA had to inject cash on several occasions due to cash flow and nowthat option has gone. These guys have to prove their worth, wages have to be paid on time; bills paid and they have to explain their motives and bond with the fans. If the take over happens of course.
God I hate this league.

Isn't it the fact that information is so rarely open and visible that itself creates leaks to be either discovered, or imagined until fact becomes fake and fake becomes fact, and eventually people who actually love the club and to whom the team genuinely matters become alienated by the whole charade?

There should really be no need for Moondog to interpret and intercede with Mr Carson on behalf of people who genuinely care, however well motivated this process is.

Everything written on here illustrates what is wrong with the club.

If Mr Allen issued his instructions to the team in such an arcane and convoluted manner they might achieve the impossible and look even more confused than they were under Gary Caldwell.

Chesterfield to be taken over by Sheffield car boot sellers, off Mr Allen's Facebook friend list...

Why would Brealey and Chester, two individuals in their winter years want to get involved in football nevermind with our club? May's and Mellish's backgrounds are limited in detail to say the least. Likewise can you think of a credible explanation why Kenworthy would be appointed DoF?

Who in your opinion has lined this lot up and more importantly, why?

This lot are so old and over the hill that it should properly be referred to as a "Takeoversaurus". Ancient football history, preserved in amber.

To finish the act of running the club into the ground, leaving administration and liquidation and ownership of the ground to the spiteful pensioner while taking a hefty salo

Perhaps there could be some way to put some alternative owners in charge of the day to day running of a football club, extract the income whilst allowing unsustainable losses to occur, and then rescue the club through a package which sees creditors, including any lenders, paid off at a few pence in the pound.

Obviously, I'm not suggesting that is what is happening at CFC, just wondering if that is something could happen elsewhere?

I was the one was was “told by someone” but clearly I cannot name names, and understand if you take my comments with a huge pinch of salt.

Like many on here, I know people both at the club and am directly linked to both players and staff too but to name names would not only jeopardise their position but also our friendship and working relationship.

Some stuff I share on here, some I don’t, and some I share, get threatened with legal action and have to remove/retract despite being 100% it’s the truth but without the hard evidence to publish.

Gossip, rumours and opinions are the fabric of this board and it would be a lonely place without it.

I accept what you say about your connections at the Club but for somebody in the dark, like me, I have to try and work out what to believe and what not to.

There is malicious rumour, just rumour, hearsay, and all sorts of assumptions going on so, at times, people are going to be called to question.

For my sins, I normally try to balance thoughts from both sides of an argument whilst accepting the rights of people to take a different view with no offence intended.

They're not exactly successful business men. My impression is they've not got much money and have been passing round the hat for the last few months raising a deposit. They could be taking a gamble of going up so they can sell at a profit. I have a horrible feeling the club is being used for purposes beyond creating a successful side. Love to be proved wrong but local millionaires are in short supply.
