I don't think so as AC told me the club would be debt free, a mortgage of course is a debt

If the club would be debt free, what can DA possibly have first charge over? The two comments surely contradict each other

He called a meeting with all the players yesterday, informed them of the impending takeover and expressed concern over his own future.

Also, he’s desperately trying to convince a striker to hang around so he can honour a contract offer made to him (for which he’s already turned Down a league club in favour of) which has been placed on hold while the take over is finalised.

That in itself is a massive worry.

When was the last time this club had a bit of stability and a season of midtable mediocrity?

IF and its a big if what AC says is true.

It would appear a face saving loss cutting move for DA.

From his point of view unless he is totally deluded he surely realises the best he can hope for is to stop funding the club and maybe just maybe see some of his loans back in the future, very similar to his situation at Hillsborough.

If that is the case the danger as we all appreciate is that the newcomers cannot afford to run the club.

From DAs point of view his position cannot worsen at best he gets something back and stops bank rolling the wages etc at worse he gets a temporary reprieve from footing the bill.

Or am i missing something

There appears to have been a big U-turn in an extremely short space of time over the best time to dispose of the club, now that is either because they are receipt of an extremely good offer, which is highly unlikely, or something else has focused their minds. I just wonder if the FA are involved over the appointment of Martin Allen and the bets placed prior to his appointment.

Can't imagine DA knows anything about that one

I was told achieved to the satisfaction of the club solicitors

I wonder why he didn't use such simplistic statements when addressing other interested parties. 'Not achieved the satisfaction of the clubs solicitors' would have been a more succinct statement instead of the utterly bewildering 'Non-refundable deposit' nonsense.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the new consortium are more than happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement to safeguard previous club failings!! Similarly, It wouldn’t surprise me if the ‘tyre kickers’ weren’t so accommodating.
If only....

I don't think someone having a few quid on the managers market makes any difference.Perhaps Dave and Ashley have bought a calculator that actually works and realised they are blithering idiots who have turned a silk purse into a sows ear .

Tram Sports Limited will eventually have to file accounts which will show a fair amount of the structure of the deal, eg cost of shares purchased, amounts of loans taken etc. It wouldn’t hurt to disclose that much information now.

So, in no way, do you think there might have been a non-disclosure agreement or letter of confidentiality signed?

This is normal for dealings of this nature and I have never known otherwise.

Clearly, though, you consider every detail should be made public even before the deal has been completed.

I wonder if Ashley knows that.....

Little snippets create gossip and unrest. Tell what you can tell and no more. The way these deals are always done.

I would think Ashley knows precisely that but one of his biggest problems is that he has never learned to use the words "no comment" when asked a question.

Okay, this is a rumour which has been circulating for a week or two (oh, and for the benefit of our resident screenshotter that's all it is - just unsubstantiated gossip).

A takeover is imminent by a group associated with Reg Brealey. The price is three million though it's not clear where that'd leave debenture payments, the AS Leisure mortgage, unsecured loans or ground ownership. Both Allen and Carson would then be out.

But that's where things get kinda weird.

The story also suggests Allen is loaning Brealey the money to buy Town - the same Brealey he pretty much dubbed skint a couple of months ago. Why? Why expose himself when relatively risk free deals are surely possible? Is it the Lee/Brown thing again where the vendor regains the whole job lot should payments be missed? Or is the stadium being split from the football club in a similar way Haslam did to our little neighbours?

Not for the first time things just didn't add up.

Worse still I was told of an insistence Steve Coe join the Board. Yet, again, why? Why would Dave Allen demand a position for a small time sponsor like him? To become some sort of 'new' Carson, maybe? So why not leave his long-term colleague in situ if that's the case? And might some view this a puppet regime anyway?

Bizarre.

Then of course there's the fact our Irish folk duo stated there'd be no sale whilst CFC was non-league - so what's changed? Why such a hasty U-turn after supposedly backing the Manager? After bombastically declaring 'I don't do failure'? Especially given such a paltry FA fine. Did they expect thousands more season ticket sales or summat? A queue of sponsors to miraculously appear?

For what it's worth I didn't believe a word of it. But now? Well I'll let folk judge for themselves if any of my tittle-tattle dovetails with today's revelations or is complete cow dung...

I look forrad to meeting Steve. He might be able to tell us what happened to some of the computers that folk might be looking for. Does this mean that 'Assistants' to Carson will now have a new Lord and Master?
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I thought Kenworthy had met with Martin and the players last week.
