In the current circumstances, with the virus escalating, a 2 week break is a piece of nonsense. All competitions should be voided with immediate effect.

They'll just follow what the grown up leagues do. The final decision on how promotion/relagation is sorted has to be coordinated through the league pyramid anyway

I know nowt about rugby or its league structure but how can voiding all leagues except one be based on public health grounds?

They’ve all stopped playing currently, it’s just they’ve decided to call the leagues final as they are currently bar the premiership which they will try to finish when they get a chance.

Rugby being such a contact heavy sport means there's possibly a higher risk of exposure, plus it can't be played on dry summer pitches and below the Prem not many sides have the facilities to adequately water the pitches. They can't play more than one game a week so fixture congestion is a big issue as well.

It'll be interesting to see how the Prem in rugby goes, but it's a much smaller pool of players that they can test.

Nothing to do with the power some of the owners of these big clubs wield.

Let's hope Allen and Carson are able to think more clearly after it. Presumably they'll get definitive guidance on playing matches, contracts, administration options, etc, etc. It could be a key date for CFC.

Possibly a decisive day today then. Fingers crossed.

We've possibly been killed off by coronavirus (the chance of this takeover happening at least).

They’ve just carried out some repairs on the stadium - maybe a sign that we’ve not totally given up the ghost just

Non league steps 5-6 and presumably below cancelled (we're in step 1) so I wouldn't hold out much hope.

My worry is that they won’t care about clubs lower down and just say the seasons over with no care or consideration to clubs and fans. However they won’t want to risk financial losses or legal claims from teams with more financial clout. The league will probably close rank and save the bottom team in league 2 and say all leagues below cancelled but that still leaves a space in League 2 and they will probably play with 23 rather than have to decide who goes up.Then they will complete all Premiership and EFL games. Just my guess.

The Prem, EFL, NL and below have separate governing bodies. We’ll be in the hands of the FA who are meant to oversee them all and it is their hands we’ll have to rely on financially.

As for promotion/relegation, is it really an issue. As far as we’re concerned, we are safe no matter what formulae is used, unless by some miraculous chance the seasons restarts.
