I think Pep wants to show what a great manager he his

Winning the EPL and CL despite having Sterlers in the squad would be momentous

Probably his greatest ever triumph

Would’ve been like Sheridan keeping us up with Bowery and Boden upfront

Nothing to do with it. If they didn’t rate him and didn’t want him he’d be gone. Home grown rule is just the overall squad not the matchday squad and they figure out a way round it with younger players are having the likes of Richard Wright as a keeper back up like they did for a few years. They wouldn’t pay a guy hundreds of thousands a week to bump up the quota numbers.

Not anymore

25 man squad maximum, must be a minimum of 8 home grown players if you want a maximum sized squad

Imagine going through life thinking you know something about football and then thinking Raheem Sterling isn't very good!

And to those saying he should have owned up when the ref made a terrible decision, I suppose we should expect defenders to own up when they trip players or handball it and a penalty isn't given?

Search and Self-Destruct.

If Pep Guardiola selects you it tends to be a sign there's a modicum of ability lurking in there.

However, you have to be impressed by someone deluded enough to imagine that if he was picked all season by Man City he could get 20 goals himself ........ and then to share that fantasy online. I wonder how Kun, Gabriel, Kevin and David de Silva would react?

My advice would be put on a frock, you've more chance of turning into Grayson Perry.

I’d back myself to get a 2 yard back post tap in in the 80th minute against a beaten demoralised side every time

A modicum of ability?

I’ll give you that, summed up well

Even so if they didn’t rate him they’d have kept Sancho or would buy in someone else. Also when you consider the likes of Fabregas, pogba and Lukaka class as homegrown the rule can be worked.

44 goals and assists he's had since August last year for City. Ahead of anyone else I believe, quite comfortably. He is class. It really isn't even up for debate.

He didn't dive either, and probably can't blame him for not owning up it wasn't a pen either.

Sterling is almost certainly the most 'gifted' English player in the last 10 years

Great player but certainly not the most naturally gifted - a grafter yes and superb passer of the ball.

I think we have all fallen for S&D's big wind up though- no body is that much of a football ignoramous surely!

James Milner was completely in jest

Puttimng "Naturally gifted" and "English players" in the same sentence without the words very few is a difficult task

Joe Mercer achieved it with a Golden generation in the early seventies ...Hudson Currie Marsh Worthington etc etc

The likes of Hoddle Gascoigne etc etc were few and far between... I cant think of too many in your last 10 years ....And yes Delle Ali I am ignoring you

Ravel Morrison SHOULD have had the world at his feet ...SAF saw through him

Englands future rests in the hands of Sterling, Foden and hopefully Grady Diangana!

In this instance it was a free hit.

Can anyone tell me how many goals or assists Sterlers had got against the top 6 sides over the last 3 years?

Look it up

Probably add Sancho to that as well....can’t ignore what he’s doing in Germany currently and possibly Reiss is it as well.
