From Twitter - The Football Heaven team and everyone at @BBCSheffield sends our condolences to the family and friends of Bob Jackson.

Bob worked with the station for 20 years (1972-92) and created the original football phone-in 'Praise or Grumble'.

It's definitely a 'Praise' from us. RIP Bob.

I know he wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I always enjoyed P&G in Bob’s day
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

A very good broadcaster whose loyalty was somewhat sadly misplaced when it came down to recent club matters.

I recall there were problems when Robert Jackson first started working at Radio Sheffield

He was a greengrocer by trade and NUJ journalists once started selling fruit and vegetables at the Queens Park as a protest when Derbyshire were playing Yorkshire when Jackson was covering the match for Radio Sheffield

I always found him to be a very aimiable person and I believe he was a shareholder with Chesterfield FC

RIP Robert

Great broadcaster - not as "serious" and over analytical as the present lot.

Always sad to hear of the passing of someone who has seemingly occupied a space in the room or car; I used to like to listen to the early days of praise and grumble.
However he was perhaps set up as a bit of stooge at our AGM in 2018; as Dim View said at the time:
“Veteran Bob Jackson was positioned at centre stage both to remind us that no matter how bad things are we have to be eternally grateful to Allen, and also to try to foreshorten questions about accounts”.
