A message from Edin Rahic, Bradford co-owner.

“Even with season tickets of £149 we can build a good team and compete if we sell more than 18,000 tickets"

“More people in the stadium means the atmosphere is better and is more scary for the visiting team,” he said. “The fans have more money to spend on beer and food. We have sold 12,000 shirts. For League One, that’s massive.

“At Bradford we decided to keep one price for adults wherever it is in the stadium. You have to have season tickets which are affordable. You see when you go to other clubs and they have 3,000-4,000 and it’s just not an atmosphere. I also went to a Premier League match in Manchester and it was like a theatre.

“Bradford is a working-class city, we are a working-class club and we want to encourage working-class supporters who give everything for the club. That’s a bit like our image. We are underdogs and we want to fight against the big boys. Therefore we need 18,000 to 20,000 supporters to have the atmosphere.”

“It’s our dream, of course, to be in the Premier League and, if we get there, the tickets will be £1 per game, because you already get at least £100 million from the TV money. The income of the ticketing would be a small percentage compared to TV money.

“So why would you not give something back to the fans? I want to have the best atmosphere in England.”

Rochdale seem to be a pretty well run club to me, and that season ticket offer is a cracker. If they can do it then surely we could..kinda blows out the water the suggestions on here that we couldn't do it and Bradford could because of the size of the club (that was nonsense anyway)

A strange one this. 2000 sold brings an income of £500k, yet 4000 sold brings in only £440k. The Club must make its money from increasing match day sales, otherwise this doesn't work. The admin costs become disproportionate and increased season ticket sales don't generate vital close season income. Having said that, they're probably hoping to sell 3999 which generates just short of £600k!

The off field costs/wages are crippling the club here, whatever they may be and who ever might receive them. Oh and at the AGM the chair said the gas and leccy bills are quite large..there u go then!

exactly, size of club is irrelevant compared to how it is run. if you manage something well even with a low budget you will tend to come out ok.

All of which should have been known, or at least a realistic estimate of at planning stages of building the stadium.
It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand.

The club applied for planning permission for solar panels on the southern stand roof in 2011.
That could have helped.

If the DT recent survey is anything to go by the season ticket sales don't look very promising with 29% saying they will renew.

Well for a start the ground is used twice as much as ours.
God I hate this league.
