One of the offers to buy the club has been turned down,” he said

ONE of the offers... what about the other then, or is the other the Stockholm one?

Personally I think it's right that the ownership of the stadium is not separated from the football club.

agree, is it regular for someone interested in making a bid to take over a football club to not want to take over stadium ownership?

It's a cheaper initial investment option, but look at Leyton Orient for a poor precedent.

Chesterfield 10-15 millions
Leyton Orient 4 million but the 'Evening Standard' reports it's negotiable.

If I had £14M and negotiated hard, I could buy both.

Not often we can say this, but the 'bid turned down 'cos it meant splitting Club from ground' line is a clever bit of PR.

No numbers, no real details, yet inferring DA has CFC's best interests at heart by snubbing cash for the greater good.

Nicely played, Ashley...

could this be such a clever bit of PR that we then hear in a few months time, that a sale has been agreed with DA "reluctantly" agreeing to retain ownership of the stadium and conferencing side of the business whilst selling the football side of the club??? too paranoid on my part?

I thought that as well jack Bauer. It could be a softening up PR excercise.

I suppose the rejected bidders, IF they existed, could clarify the position if they wished

Reality £7 million and a clean slate plus all shares at one pence per share would be a decent deal all round given the clubs current position.
