It'd take a hell of a lot more than that for me to consider voting for them.

The Lib Dem Manifesto comes with a dotted line down the middle accompanied by the words: 'Tear here in event of a coalition'.

Spot on. Mind you, it worries me that you and I think alike. Some people might say that it's because we're both wrong, but I'm not having it!

If they were saying we could have a 5000 standing covered Kop I'd consider it.

safe standing isnt the problem now its the fact that most now have all seater stadiums and will not want to cover the cost of converting back the cost will be high because the word "safe" just makes you know there will be 5000 Health amd safety laws to obey.

Most people stand on busy stands behind both goals anyway, at least it'll stop all the moaning.

All that will do at our place is reduce the capacity of the ground.

I know you said it jokingly and I know I'm about to contradict myself but if a corner was filled in for safe standing it would be an enormous success. The people who like to sit on the Kop would keep their seats, the massive downside would be the mass exodus to 'safe standing' leaving gaping holes all over the Kop.

So as good an idea it is perhaps in practice it might not work for us until we need a bigger capacity and that isn't likely some time soon.

They also don't have a nanny state nor a league which has been old enough (don't forget the Bundesliga didn't get formed until 1963) for old decrepit stadia the likes of Illsborough (which is still a death trap IMO) or dare I say it, our old Lady Saltergate!
