'that's the best Chesterfield team we have played'
'we frustrated them'
'this is a difficult place to come'
'thankfully for me this is ticked off I wouldn't fancy coming here too often to try and get a win'
'we shot out of the traps in the first 10-15 minutes and could have been 2 or 3 up'
'they had a 15-20 spell where they dominated. They were all over us and they should have scored a goal to be honest they should have nicked at least one and they never and we didn't lie down and we got stronger'
'if this win doesn't fuel the fire I don't know what will'
'he needs to be clinical you can't have 6 chances to convert 1' ....re Benik Afobe
'Mk is on a high the players deserve praise and the plaudits'
'we defended with heart and soul'
From the sub keeper...
'these are a good side, move the ball well and when the crowd get behind them its like an extra man'
'that's a good test'
We will be ok we came up against a good league 1 team with nous and ability and matched them. Goals change games at every level but especially the higher you go. We convert one of the first half chances, Hird's header goes in instead of out, Doyle curls in his effort instead of wide, the game and the result is probably different. That was a good test and a benchmark for this league and the way they celebrated at the final whistle you know how much and what a good win that was for them. We need to keep calm, yes add to the squad and have a bit of luck with injuries but we will be ok in fact more than ok. The next two games are test too but nothing to fear, 4 points wouldn't surprise me and neither would 6 so lets wait and see. Nice to see how others perceive us and certainly not as league 1 whipping boys.

Doesn't matter what the manager said. We got no points, huffed and puffed second half and wouldn't have scored if we had played whilst now. Good first half until the handbags knocked us out if our stride but second half we had no threat and they were comfortable. Back to the problem of being able to break sides down. Doyle was totally dominated by the string centre backs and Armand didn't cause them any problems either. If I was Oshea I'd be asking just what I had to do to stay on the pitch. He was playing very well and Roberts was one dive or bit of petulance from being sent off. Wrong sub

I could see why Cook wanted to change things but the O'Shea substitution was a bit bizarre as he was still looking lively. Hadn't O'Shea just had that run that ended in the MK player diving in and getting injured in the process
As you said second half it was reminiscent of some games last year

Good defence, led by McFadzean. I was hoping someone might run at him and draw a second yellow to tilt things our way

Hird has been criticised quite a bit on here after the MK game but I thought he got some good tackles and blocks in. Ok, there were a few errors but as a stand-in for Cooper he's fine. I wouldnt cricitise him for the header that hit the post as the ball came at him very quickly and pretty much point-blank. credit for being in the right place.

I thought so too - but then is it me or does O'Shea always seem to be the first player to leave the field? It was the same last season!
