I'd say Jim has done more for this club than anyone else in its history?
I know he's an employee but he is so much more-I'd love to see a stand named after him (rather than that Karen Child fella)

To work alongside it says developing new business.

Jim is key to the existing sponsors with his relationships spanning years.
Having been a sponsor for a number of years myself one of the main reasons we return is how Jim looks after us.

Which sounds like what the new bloke should be doing?

I suspect the new blokes job it's to get bums on seats and maintain the elusive 7k attendance.

I suspect the decent amount of cash she puts in to sponsor said stand is mainly the reason thats named after her!

when I left my last job around 12 years ago my work colleagues got me some chesterfield fc stuff for my leaving present. They were full of praise for how pleasant and charming Jim Brown was.

Why are things off the pitch of no concern?

If people start slagging off Jim Brown then it's time to give up. What that bloke has done for this football club is unmeasurable.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Jim is 62 now so retirement might be on the horizon also.

Jim is almost part of the furniture and is still very popular amongst the sponsors/hospitality guests on match days.

Jim has forged very good relationships with some of the clubs major sponsors, VK, Leengate etc but presumably the new mans remit will be to attract new sponsors to maximise the match day income as well as selling the facilities from a non-match day perspective.

The guy has in depth knowledge of both local football and local business so should be able to make a decent impact relatively quickly.

I'm a fan of football, not the business side. I go to watch a game not to see who the club employ behind the scenes in run of the mill positions. Can't see why folk get all excited me sen.

I trust this board is not going to resort to knocking one of our main sponsors in these last few years.

Who's knocking? Just saying naming a stand after yourself is a big ego trip.

Nothing wrong with that I suppose but she must love herself

Oh right, so you're just a tiny bit judgemental then. Nice trait youth.

I'm no youth and surely wanting your name in big letters on a stand is an ego trip? Isn't it?

I said there's nothing wrong with it I guess but it's definitely an ego trip!

If I win tonight's Lotto I'll call the main stand the Calvin Plummer stand;-)
