With so many players playing well, it must be difficult for PC to select his staring 11. I thought it might be interesting to see other supporter's starting 11, formation and 3 subs; assuming every player is fit. Here's my effort:

..............................................Lee..............................................

Darikwa.................Evatt.................Margreitter................Jones

............................................Ryan..............................................
Oshea...........................................................................Roberts
................................Morsy.............Johnson..............................
............................................Doyle.............................................

Subs:
Armand
Banks
Talbot

You can have more subs than that squire.

Unless you're doing your own thing.

I know you can, but you can only use 3. By only picking 3 makes it really difficult IMO. Feel free to pick as many subs as you want; it's the starting 11 that's my main interest.

He has started well....What position would you play him and who would he replace in your opinion? (He'd definitely make one of my 7 subs!)

I can't see Ryan doing the holding job on his own (he wasn't even a holding midfielder until he joined us).

Also our fullbacks bomb on an awful lot and asking one player to fill in and cover aren’t going to happen leaving us very exposed down the flanks. Adding to this further Robo and O'Shea isn’t going to any extra defensive work either.

I can see what you are trying to do (we have an obvious overload of talented attacking midfielders that's it's hard to leave anybody out), and as a plan b it could be a very viable option, but not as a starting line up with the personnel you penned in, imo.

The thing I hate is that I personally think Banks is a cracking player and HAS to be starting, but how and where? All he needed was his match sharpness after a long injury layoff, and now this is about there. It’s taken a long time for the lad to get there as we don't have a reserve team for this purpose.

Look at Bank's strenghts (of which strenght is one of them)..

Excellent eye for a pass (simple and difficult)
Eye for goal
Excellent control
Mobile
Helps out with the dirty stuff
Not afraid to get stuck in
Tackles well
Great feet for a big guy

He's got everything a good midfielder needs (but I can't get him in the side and that frustrates the life out of me as he should be).

Hard to do with all the quality we have in attacking midfield/on the wings, could use any of O'Shea, Roberts, Johnson, Banks, Gardner, Clucas, Boco, Darikwa, maybe even Talbot.

And there's Bolly yet that we haven't really seen anything of. Sounded something else away at Scunny in the JPT.

He showed yesterday he can step up if Morsy or Ryan are out. I'm not going to pick a hypothetical first choice starting XI because it depends on form and other variables. I'd guess Gardner wouldn't be in many peoples' XIs but he's had no chance to force his way in yet this season, so who knows what our best team is?

My favourite three town players are Morsy, Johnson and Banks. They have everything and more a midfielder should have at our level, with at least two having the 'more' bit!
I'm a town fan that doesn't quite remember the Cox years with a side that was all about the quality in midfield. Okay, we've had a few decent midfielders down the years since (Robinson, Dutch, Ebdon etc), but not all at the same time and none (imo) with the obvious talent that could see them go all the way as we have now.
I can't describe how I feel about our midfield as I seriously have to keep pinching myself that it's actually ours and it's happening :D I'm telling ya, the young uns today don't know how good they've got it ;)

No Johnson? (we've seriously got to do everything we can to sign that lad!)

Edit: Otherwise I'm not far off where you're at ;)

I'm with you, but I could say the same for Johnson and Ollie  It's a fantastic nightmare to have, lol

Ollie Banks was awesome yesterday. Passing range, trickery, demanding the ball in tight positions and protecting it. He is a big player. Reminded me of Tony Curry.

Its a tough one but mine would be as follows

Lee

Darikwa Evatt Hird Jones

Ryan Morsy

O'Shea Johnson Roberts

Doyle

Very hard to leave out Banks who I'm a big fan of. But with the form Johnson is in and Roberts (pre injury), the intelligence of that attacking 4 mean is unreal. With the option of Banks, Gardner or Gboly to follow from the bench is a great headache for the manager to have.

Armand whilst often criticised has been great this season so far - his impact from the bench has been noticeable

....very exciting, but no goal threat compared to Banks and Roberts. I'm almost hoping Villa recall him so that our problem is diminished. Ironically, that might be the best route to us getting him permanently in the future. The midfield 3 has to be Jayo, Banks, Roberts when everybody is fit because we can't keep relying on Doyle for goals. Then PC has got Gardner, Armand, Clucas none of whom are going to be happy for long on the bench. Something has to give.
