All matches at Bristol City this season are all ticket for away.
Scunthorpe got caught out and a fair few supporters failed to get in.

You get the left hand section of the opposite end while the new stand is built. Traditionally I think that was the open away end anyway.

Was at Ashton Gate during the last bank holiday weekend and can confirm that one end of the ground is just a flat empty space (a la Oxford) at present. Apparently the new stand will be a curved end that joins up with the two touchline stands. Really enjoyed the weekend in the city and 'enjoyed' several of the local hostelries. A fair few town fans up in Clifton pre-match would be good, esp. on the huge beer garden that overlooks the suspension bridge and the gorge below. Think it was the White Hart Hotel.

My knowledge of Bristol is limited but Clifton is the other side of the city to Ashton Gate isn't it?

*A look at a map confirms my knowledge is indeed limited.

I live and work within a mile of the ground, so happy to provide some recommendations.

The place you mention is the white lion, Clifton village. About 30 mins walk if you know where you are going. There are plenty of good pubs in the village, but it is pricey (£4 a pint).

Pubs round the ground are terrible- avoid.

North street, 5 mins walk from the ground has a few good pubs- the tobacco factory is the obvious one, or the spotted cow. No idea if they are home fans only.

A good option for a bit of a crawl would be hotwells road, about 15 mins walk from the ground. There are some belting pubs including the grain barge (a converted boat selling bristol brewing company beer), the pump house, the Mardyke (Northern prices) and a few others.

I will be in long ashton, where there is parking and three good pubs, the closest being the angel.

Won't they allow you to pay over the phone and collect at Bristol?

1100 seats available so should be enough for everyone who wants to go.

didn't work for Scunny - they had 40/50 people travel down without tickets, having been told by their club that they would be available on the day, only to be denied entry. Some of these claim to have bought them over the phone for pick up beforehand but they didn't get in either. Long way to go to miss a game
