I was thinking that maybe a thread about brief, diverse, thought provoking reading material might be a good idea as we are all housebound.
After watching 'A Time To Kill' on iPlayer, I'll give these a go :-

I found it in a phone box in Milford, which I always imagine has some attractive older ladies living there.

Or Russians. It didn't have sticky, jam like substance on the cover did it?
If you are interested in science I recommend swatting up on Bell's Theorem, which I'm trying to get my head round at the moment. My oldest mate, a retired maths/physics teacher swears it's mind blowing.
'Bell's theorem asserts that if certain predictions of quantum theory are correct then our world is non-local. "Non-local" here means that there exist interactions between events that are too far apart in space and too close together in time for the events to be connected even by signals moving at the speed of light.'
From what I've gathered so far, Bell was no crank. To my simple mind, I think it means that there are particles in the Universe which can communicate with each other instantaneously, which is a kick up the ass for Einstein's Theory.
'
If you stick 'Bell's Theorem explained' into Google you'll find 'Idiot's Guide to ..' as well as advanced explanations of it.

Or Russians what, sorry?
Yes, I knew that one of the tenets of quantum theory is that two particles can be interconnected regardless of what we perceive as distance. Quantum communication, quantum computing etc..... fascinating, mind-bending stuff.

Youtube keeping me sane.
My favourite is Alistair McGowan's Football Backchat.
Very good if you like impressions and don't mind a few minutes of Dean Saunders.

Not seen the film but will look for it.
After reading I immediately purchased another one of his - “blood meridian” but I am yet to start it. If it’s half as good as the road it will be a cracker.

Superb piece.
Shame there's no mention though of Eddie Barlow, who had a profound influence on the self belief of many Derbyshire players, most notably Geoff Miller. Incidentally, Geoff told me that the great Bob Taylor went through one period of two seasons when he didn't miss a single chance behind the stumps - that's a catch, a stumping, or a run out.
It's arguable that DCC had the best team in the world in 1936.
