didn't he explain or justify his comment, he can't say a song that doesn't mention colour or ethnicity is racist without saying why

You could sing the pineapple song to white players with similar hair cuts

We could really do without this kind of negative stuff at the club right now.

Thing is it'll be one sided as i doubt they'll follow up with the club or any CFC fans orgainsation, if we have such a thing, to give our account of what happened. Based on his history of making allegations its the perfect platform for Ashmore to make all his claims without any comeback it would appear.

He just admitted that Saturday's abuse was not racist, though it sounds like a lot of other unpleasant things were said.
If he is not claiming racism where none apparently happened, fair enough- he has a right to complain about the other abuse.
These go to eleven.

Seems plenty of town fans have contacted Talksport on twitter with stuff about Ashmore's actions and other views of what happened :-

Listening now. Says he doesn't mind being called fat. Saying he was attacked at the end of the game Saturday. Admitting to time wasting Saturday but says he wasn't cheating.
Now talking about Jason Lee. Saying that the pineapple song was racist. Really ?

Just text them. Hopefully they'll ring back and we'll have a nice chat !

Got to admit I felt uncomfortable about a minority of our fans continually singing that to a Solihull player on New Years Day

That makes it very interesting that i believe Neil Custis who is a footy journalist for the Sun slated Jim White the other day i believe...think i saw Westbars Spireite tweet something about it!!

Not sure thats fair on the alien civilisation....for me he can just be fired off into space and left it at that!!

I did. Was listening on the way to a meeting and Custis proper got the hump with White who denied saying what Custis claimed he had.

Initially there was an allegation of racist abuse, because the statement on the club's website said so. Our club has been portrayed very negatively and if he has now withdrawn any allegation he made, that would be good - but damage has already been done to the club's image?

The pineapple thing is out of order. It does tend to be shouted at primarily black players simply because white players don't have it. I know it's only a hairstyle but crowds don't chant baldy to players with shaved heads.

Agree it feels very much like an attempted circumvention of the law

You should've called Jim White up then and told him.
You know the game better than most of us when it comes to the individuals in it so you would've been able to pass your knowledge on.

They wont chant baldy at players with shaved heads as there's so many of them its almost the norm - Most derogatory Football Chants are used to pick on something unusual or different about a player/team. In an attempt (I guess) to make them lose concentration, play poorly etc.

If you took it to its 'N'th degree than all football chanting is a form of bullying - but there needs to be perspective applied here.

What a complete load of bo11ocks. I work with a white guy who has Afro type hair. He gets called microphone head by way of banter. Are you telling me saying this to a black person is racist? It’s about the hair....not the colour of skin.

I heard "gypo" a few times on Saturday but I reckon many people who shout that wouldn't think that was racist

Absolute complete and utter horse 💩, let’s not try and shoe horn racism into a situation where it doesn’t exist.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.
