That’s the end of me also there as landlord chaps as one poster kindly pointed out would happen. I’ve met some good people in my year @ the Spireite, I’d like to think I did a good job, I will continue to see you all on match days to anyone who knows me, probably at The Glassworks in the future. It's like 'The Swan' in town. I'll call it The Swan cos that's what me and my mates know it by - but it's new name is The Pig and Pump.....but still The Swan.

As with Towns ground, why nog start calling it The Glass Works?
It could be the grounds nick name?
Saltergate was really the Recreation Ground, but always known as Saltergate.

So, 'The Glass Works' seems fitting with the long Dema connection.

And The Glass Works pub will probably still be called The Spireite between footie goers

Was an apprentice at the ‘glassworks’ we used to go over to the rose n crown on a Friday lunch for a pint n a chip butty when old John had it. IIRC they were Sheffield Utd fans, and once had Paul Heaton in to do an acoustic set!

What was wrong with the b2net/proact Glassworks stadium... Keep the sponsorship but retain the history of the land it stood on...

All too late now though unfortunately.

There's a contradiction there, I'll always call it the Rose & Crown, although the Glaasworks is a fitting name seeing Brampton Brewery already have a Rose & Crown
