No white smoke yet but I notice his Wikipedia page now describes Caldwell as the ‘current mismanager’ of Exeter, which is accurate.

😆😆😆,and they'll let him mismanage them into relegation. I bet he was brilliant at school thinking up excuses about why he hadn't done his homework 😁. He'll talk his way through the season until it's too late.

Having 10 mins to kill I was looking at some comments on the BBC site and with Grimsby losing 6-1 was attracted to that, some Walsall fan posted it's the 1st time in 75 years that they had scored 6 away since doing so at Exeter. To which some wag replied "he didnt realise Gary Caldwell had been there that long". Reputations eh!

2023 was the first full calendar year Caldwell has survived at a club as manager.
These go to eleven.

Good striker, crap manager and a useless pundit. The average fan talks much more sense about the game.

The money they pay at Talksport is more than average but when you listen to Deano repeating his experiences in football and you put him against Jamie O’Hara they’ve nearly reached the bottom of the barrel.
God I hate this league.

Listening to Saunders has the same affect as Horlicks on me, he sends me to sleep. Listening to Cookie, on the other hand, is a joy to hear someone so passionate about their job, chalk and cheese.

That’s it. My favourite and least favourite Town managers, whose success and appeal (for me) was directly proportional to their enthusiasm for the job.
These go to eleven.

I've noted those results with disappointment.

Speaks well of him as a coach, not sure it’s really well.
On Sam Hird, interesting that he heard of his release from someone who’d seen it on Twitter. Shades of Neil Warnock’s release; to be hoped Sam’s still not on about it in 40;years time. By the sounds of it, he won’t be.

I thought he quite pointedly made the reference to him being a good coach as opposed to a good manager and was being polite.
