Been an excellent game and tournament so far, no diving, no cheating, no cynical fouls etc, technique excellent, lots of goals, yet the goal keeping has been surprisingly good, in many ways this has been more enjoyable than men’s football. The “honesty” in the play, the game has been a breath of fresh air. I’ve really enjoyed it. Everything we moan about about in the cynical game has been missing

Hands down beats in terms of “watchable football” those national league dirges I saw last season under MA. Forget who’d beat who etc, it’s been brilliant.

I’ve throughly enjoyed the tournament so far.
A new hope.

It's been enjoyable to watch, as long as you don't compere it to the mens game. I think more people should get behind it and support it especially men. The England ladies deserve better support than they get.The two finishes from White were top drawer.

Great finishes from White. But what’s that goggles celebration? Apparently her husband said ‘why don’t you do that (copy her hero Modeste’s Celebration?’). I say don’t bother, take a look at the Ivan Hollett, Dennis Law whirling arm. Far easier on the eye.

You're having a laugh. The Scotland vs Argentina game had gamesmanship trying to delay the taking of a penalty, group harrassment of the referee, booting the ball away to prevent quickly taken free kicks. All that in the last 10mins alone. They cheat just as much as the men to gain an advantage.

I agree. Really enjoying it.... some of the football has been excellent especially from USA and a few other sides. Nice to see no rugby scrum grabbing/pulling etc from corners, free kicks also.

I asked a pal of mine who watched the competition for the first time yesterday what he thought:

"As a committed feminist, I applaud every time they manage to successfully kick that heavy ball."

They clearly need to play it in the more purist way that you are such a master of

I’ve enjoyed it immensely, what I’ve managed to catch. Managed to get up at 4am to catch the England v Japan match and England impressed me a lot. Much stronger on the ball and in the tackle than the Japanese but allied with some good tactical positioning and an exciting and pretty accurate shoot on sight policy. Japanese team were fancy and pressed well but toothless in the final third - English wing backs impressed me a lot and England’s number 11 (Stanway?) has some nice touches and a good shot. Both teams kept trying a final killer ball that they need work on - always went awry...

England will take some stopping. How much they’ve come on and surpassed Japan in the last 4-8 years is amazing.

I really can’t get into it, just not interested.
I have been accused of being sexist but I counter that with the fact I don’t care about the champions league or the premier league either.

Even if I did compare it to the mans game I dont think it would stop me enjoying it.

I think its excellent and I agree, I too think people should get behind it more. Gutted I'm going to miss the next England game.

Watched the England games so far and it’s been great, I reckon we’ll win it. Some good players in our side, Houghton, Scott and Bronze some of the best.

Okay - but what are your reasonings for not liking it?

If it’s poncing around by overpaid players - that doesn’t apply to these lasses.
If it’s that it doesn’t involve your club, then I assume you don’t care about England in the blokes WC.
If it’s that there’s no bludと VAR in town games, fair enough. And I think that might be what gets the lower leagues increasing numbers of fans (a good thing) cause from all I can see, VAR is proving a total nightmare. I thought it might be a techno development that might irritate at first but need some getting used to - it’s exactly the opposite - familiarity and misuse breeds contempt. Get rid!

Yep England women have some great players but still vulnerable to wayward passes. I think USA have got this in the bag.

Yeah the Yanks look good too and you're right there were a fair amount of loose passes against Japan but it was a rotated team. Would be a good game us vs USA

Agree there have been some excellent games and good football. However, I can't agree about England's showing so far. They look ponderous to me, and continually give the ball away under little pressure. I've seen at least four teams looking far better than England, especially USA. One thing England do have in their favour is Ellen White - she not only looks like Harry Kane, but also has the same clinical finishing ability.

Personally I think the left back has been the best player

Women’s football just doesn’t do anything for me, the little bits I’ve seen of this World Cup I haven’t enjoyed.
Hard to sum it up other than that really, some women’s sport I really like - tennis (better than men’s tennis), athletics a lot of Olympic disciplines. Some women’s sport I just can’t take to - football, rugby, boxing, don’t slenjoy any of them.

Each to their own I guess. I enjoy watching it, mainly because there is less acting and no grabbing opposition round the neck when taking corners to name but 2. It really really pees me off to see our own Ton Denton get grabbed round the neck and refs ignore it.

They are only not over paid as they haven’t been offered it. If the game continues to grow they won’t turn it down.
