Carl Airy for a brief time? Or maybe Dave Waller or Caldwell.

The year I left school, I would say Caldwell

Depends if you mean the 1985-86 season or the 1986-87 season

If you mean the 85/86 season it was spread around a bit between Phil Walker, Dave Caldwell, Charlie Williamson, Phil Brown, Bob Bloomer, Brian Scrimgeour, Gerry Armstrong & Paul Batty

If you mean the 86/87 season it was predominantly Dave Caldwell with occasional appearances (probably down to suspension!!!) by Brian Scrimgeour, Oliver Bernadeau, Carl Airey, Darren Wood & Andy Taylor.

In the 86/87 season, Phil Walker had moved on to play for Scarborough, whilst keeping the Chesterfield Arms.

He used to coach a group of us at St. Mary's Primary on Friday afternoons, helping us achieve the old "Superskills" awards.

Did the blue award involve him teaching you how to use an oversized bottom to turn your man?

Did anyone go to the POTY do at the Saltergate Club, probably 1987 where Charlie Williamson stood up and told the joke "why doesn't Kevin Keegan w**k, because he always dribbles before he shoots". I seem to remember the room going silent and me spitting my pint out.

My two penneth ... This CANNOT be true

I gave up on Chesterfield F C on Sep 13th 1986 following a particular spineless 0-3 home defeat to Bristol City

I saw Gerry Armstrong several times for Chesterfield FC

Wasn't talking about the Dave Waller part, genius, on Gerry Armstrong joining us you are dead wrong! If you'd bother to read which post I was replying to you'd understand that!
