Coupled with the return of Jones, Evatt, O'Neill and, hopefully, Martinez, yes things on the signings front do seem to be a lot more thought out and structured than last years debacle..just be nice to sort some of the off field stuff out.

To be fair his nose is huge!

But yes, very happy with our dealings so far.

I'd be more happy if we guaranteed keeping our decent remaining flair players Jay O and Gboly.

I'm more looking forward to this season, looks like some decent signings. Plus Dean Saunders isn't in charge.

Off the pitch we seem a shambles but on it we seem to be very quietly going about our business and making promising signings on the face of it :ninja:

Reasonably, yes.

But overshadowed by off-field issues which have tempered almost any enthusiasm I may have had for the season.

I'm very pleasantly surprised, signings wise. The arrival of a winger makes me think at least one of Boly and Jayo are off. Keep one of them (Jayo if I could choose), get a keeper and a defender as suggested and with the return of Jones and Martinez I'll be happy.

Id rather keep gboly his potential is huge and his pace scares teams and makes them sit deep!
Danny is showing his experience now and moulding a very capable squad we have pace down the flanks with Jones and gboly, great holding midfielder in Martinez.... Plenty of experience blended with youth.... I'd just like to see another big strong centre half next to Evo now and maybe a plan b up in a big strong target man to go along with ched!!!!! Can't wait!!!

I imagine it would all be down to if Gboly would be willing to sign a contract extension, otherwise it might be a case of getting what they can now for him.

I agree about his potential, aye. Think I'm just a sentimental bleeder haha. That being said, your man above is right...it'll come down to getting something for Gboly whilst we can. Probably. And I wouldn't have an issue with that. Excited to see the new lad in action I must say.

Despite having no money, so people say, I think we have signed decent players and credit should go to Danny. Its been all "Doom and Gloom" on here so I hope the new signings can lift the mood a bit. Regarding Boly and Jay I hope that we manage to keep them both but out of the two Boly has the most potential and I think someone will snap him up. I really hope that CFC can get the off the pitch stuff sorted asap and start to build some trust back. I am now looking to the New Season.

That's where I'm at, and why I'd like them to come to a head and resolved before the season starts. Year end tomorrow and the sooner somebody whistleblows the financial results the better.

On the field, I'm stressed by our plan to replace Novak 'cos it's high risk; I'm stressed by the thought of losing Jayo and his goals; I'm stressed about SEB's position; I'm stressed when I consider the probability of Angel and Evo being fit enough to play regularly.

I'm not stressed about Gboly. If he plays well but rejects a big contract offer then we'll get compo. And I think the bench now looks much better balanced and fit for purpose.

I need a lie down.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Me too, I think we have a great deal of potential on paper, but then again other teams will be saying the same.

I am hopeful that we will be able to compete this season after the nightmare of Saunders.

Really looking forward to it this year.

Very pleasantly surprised at the signings (most of them) and very disappointed at the off field goings on
