Good. It looks as though Danny knows what he is doing unlike his smooth talking predecessor. If someone said would you take mid table mediocrity next season. What would you say?

Is he a similar player to JCR, ie, signed in preference?

I haven't got an issue with an undisclosed fee. It can push the price of signings up for the selling club etc. At least we've started announcing contract lengths again.

Aye I'm sure everyone will be asking Chelsea for plenty more money than usual once everyone knows we chucked them 25k for this lad.

There's been those that say we haven't got a pot to pee in but, at least, it seems the Board have backed Danny on this one.

I suspect it will be a nominal fee with a reasonable sell-on clause.

Anyway, it's good that a kid wants first team football lower down the leagues rather than waste away low down the pecking order at a mega-bucks Premiership club.

Let's make him welcome, show some patience, and, hopefully, watch him develop.

Neither should we - but it will make good banter in the local with these so-called Chelski supporter (bought a shirt & watch them on Sky in the pub) types when we can say this player turned down a contract with them to join the real CFC.

Bump.
There he is then, on Player.

Sounds like a JCR clone. Wide player, either side, very direct, loves making assists, scores a few. Nice lad.

I tell you what, if Danny Wilson was telling the truth about having two more players to sign, then we will have a decent squad for next season.

I've not seen anything to suggest they offered him another del, but if they did and he signed for us instead, we'd be liable pay a fee for him, and he's been there 10 years!!

You'd hope we've already done our homework with regards to potential fees etc......

Let me get this right , we sign an un proven Chelsea under 21 lad who no one has seen play and it is deemed a great signing and yet talk about signing a Chesterfield lad who has played for Italy up to under 20 level as a massive gamble ?

Have seen him play numerous times and has always been on radar of a lot of clubs.
He was part of a superb youth team.

I contacted Mitchell the head of town recruitment last year making him aware of the availability of 2 more players from that team (not Reece Mitchell though) - never heard back. One signed to Champ club- other still available but looking at offers.
Chelsea youth teams of last 5-10 years don't produce many mugs

Not looked throught the thread(s) but I can't believe anyone has described offering the "Chesterfield Lad" a trial is a massive gamble. If anyone has they are right prunes.

However, offering the "unproven Chelsea U21 lad" a 2 year contract when we are only offering the 'Chesterfield Lad" (known to our management for years) a trial speaks volumes about their relative potential at this stage in their careers
