Sunderland are right though....the FA cant mess them about. If they are going to pick Allardyce they need to get on with it and do it.

Personally. ...i think sam will make a decent job of it, not be bullied into picking the fa's goldenboys and pick on current form ...not be worried about picking players from the lesser prem clubs..instead of just the chosen few...and play players in the positions they do for their club.

They would likely be his plus points, yes.
A few on the other side too.

But of those Allardyce is, sadly, the best qualified for the job.
It's not all doom and gloom, though.
For all his reputation for ugly football Allardyce has proven capable of getting the best out of what he has - which in the case of English players ain't that much! What's more he can motivate and organise a team, the qualities that got some relatively ordinary sides further than England in the Euro's.
Infact many wrote off Portugal pre-tournament.
The FA must think longer term, though. Why not insist younger managers attend England 'camps' to learn for the future? Why not have the likes of Eddie Howe and, yes, our own (as was) Sean Dyche involved so they'll be better prepared later on? If there is to be a progression including Gareth Southgate why not have him in the dugout at first team games?
And most important of all it's time to impose a quota of English players on Premier League clubs, I'd say at least - at least - five in any match day squad. It's the only way young English players - who seem to do well at youth level tournaments (we beat the French at U19 level only last evening) - will get the experience they need.
What's happened in the past has failed. Embarrassingly so. There simply has to be a new approach.

Yes there needs to be an overhaul. Not Big Sam for me. I reckon Bilic might sort it.

He had earned " relative " success by playing safe ...his mantra has been " respect the point ".
However he is pig headed ( not the worst thing in a manager maybe ) and will do things his way.
The season before last WHU were in relative terms riding high at Xmas 3rd in league without the injured Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan
Both recovered at same time and were shoe horned back to break up a winning side and what followed was 4 months of relegation form on a Villa scalle
It's this kind of pig headed ness that irks many ... He always called West Ham fans deluded well FS you have now got THE most deluded fans in the world to satisfy
Good Luck not my choice but then I haven't really bothered about England since Sir Bobby Robson

Also one of the most forward thinking managers out there.
A superb man manager, motivator and scholar of sports science.
Like a bigger version of Dave Brailsford or Clive Woodward.
He'll do well
