having just read the full article, it seems that the competition is extending to make round 1 a group of 4 meaning we have 3 fixtures to play in round one, so what this means is we stretch our squad further, so will we be able to play our fringe/youth players as we can't risk 1st team players getting injured or suspended for league games,

So let me get this straight:

They want to reduce about of teams in each league to 20 to ease fixture congestion but at the same time introduce a champions league style format and increase the number of games in a season.

And regards to the unders entering it, we knew it would happen didn't we.

I'd **** my pants if no one turned up to any of these games although it shouldn't affect us for a while as there isn't a Prem club within 50 miles of us!
Here we go again!

Disgraceful decision, will not attend any of these games and would support an organised boycott.

Could our fans reps ( do they still have these meetings ?) record / put fwd my / our views please - assuming this is the majority view.

Admission prices will be very interesting

I for one will not be attending any 1st team game against some premiership U21 outfit.
Where's the motivation, all we are doing is looking after the elite clubs once again.

JpT final next season Manchester City U21 v Chelsea U21

We'll done to all involved in agreeing this nonsense.

Is CT and AC there on a week long all expenses paid trip to Portugal.
If so, why is the conference in Portugal when they are launching the English football league, double standards to me. Why the both of them need to be there for longer than the conference at the clubs expense but hey, the club doesn't waste money

Anyway, looking toward to watching Watford reserves, not!!

They wouldn't be exploiting their position to enjoy an expenses paid week away. Our club doesn't do stuff like that. .corrupt cronyism

I find the whole thing a bit condescending towards league 1 and 2 clubs to be honest.
These kids aren't good enough to be playing in their first teams, but they'll be competitive against lower league donkeys apparently. It'd be funny if they got lumps kicked off them.

Exactly you cannot develop young players in a div 1 squad without getting fined but those big headed arrogant premier league lot can field a team full of kids ...you could not make it up.

If they want them to get the experience they should just send them on season long loans

Made me laugh. Wonder where Platini and Blatter are watching the game tonight?

Major league football then minor league football.
It's slowly happening.

So you didn't go to either Wembley final out of principle?

I'm surprised they didn't scrap it after we won it, like they did with the Anglo Scottish Cup

Now the EFL Trophy will have premiership U21 teams in it

If you look at this link there's a bit about AFC Wimbledon selling Kingsmeadow, the ground that originally belonged to Kingstonian to Chelsea, so they can move back to Plough Lane.
Anything in common with the Franchise then?
Just wondered.

They seem to have tried to bury this announcement within the news agenda by waiting until the Euros was about to kick off.
These go to eleven.

This is complete rubbish. Unfortunately for me I'm to much of an addict to miss a home game. Rest assured though I won't enjoy it.
