Doubt it. Rowe will have been windmilling around his kitchen at the news.

Our MD might be though.
God I hate this league.

Yep. The article says he left 'following' our signing of 2 goalies. Looks like it might be 2 for 1 pay packet good business.

Would the club have offered up some sort of settlement?
A new hope.

I would guess it depends on the length of his new contract. If I were in his position and it's 18 months then I'd go for nowt. If it's 6 months then he needs an incentive.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Just read the DT article....”an opportunity came up that was too good to turn down” seems fairly obvious.

So we may have got 2 in for one out.

Impressive that the man is building a capable lower end L2 squad on National league north wages isn’t it, gives us hope for the future.
A new hope.

Right decision.
Unfortunately he reminded me very much of his Dad who also always seemed to have a mistake in his locker most games.
For those of a certain age he always reminded me of a lower league Gary Sprake.

Spot on Nige I've said the same ever since we saw him at Belper. We got £60k for Glan though

Was it Glan who in a game ran a good many yards out of his area to clear a loose ball and fresh aired it, letting in their man for a walk in goal. At Cross Street end.

Why would we offer him a pay-off? Another club is willing to sign him. He wants to go. We play coy. However, we won’t get in your way. Thanks for your service but goodbye.

If he’s on £1k a week here and they’re offering him £500 a week, then he’d obviously want the rest as a lump sum, so he doesn’t lose out, I know I certainly would.

Presumably depends who wanted to end things, the fact he’s saying an opportunity to good to turn down suggests he wanted to go so we’ve let him and not had to pay anything.

He's quoted as saying, had an offer too good to turn down,..
That doesn't suggest to me that he was leaving for less money...

May not be less money if he's got a pay off to subsidise it, then there is the length of contract, Morecambe may be offering a deal for next season, although the main reason for him announcing this will be loss of face.

It's a bit of a bugbear of mine how so many keepers nowadays flop down to the ground with the ball and stay there, even with nobody around them. Letheren did it every time, if he could get hold of the ball.
He'd actually done well under JR prior to the nightmare moment at Solihull, but that no doubt undermined Rowe's faith in him and Rowe has shown he wants his own men in. Przybek looked fine so far, whereas Letheren, with his lack of presence and suspect handling, was not inspiring confidence.
The contracts thread suggests Letheren had six months remaining on his deal, so good luck to him at Morecambe, where they currently have a GK crisis (https://www.bbc.co.u...otball/55773024) and he should get game time in the league. Hopefully any settlement won't have been too costly for us.
These go to eleven.

Pembo said everyone who had signed was on a `12 month deal even him"

It would be unlikely to say he was leaving to take up a crap deal ...

Bit unlucky, thought he have been a good number two. I'd Ike to thank him for his part in the 5 clean sheets and all those wins

He was a number 2 on every level
