Painful listening but hopefully now we’ve got that first win, the confidence will start to come back. Still need a hell of a lot of improvement though

Weston best game for us.
Will we see it on a regular basis??
Joe Rowley looks a little weaker, lethargic and afraid to tackle today. Not as good at this level?

Can anyone elaborate on Weston’s performance? Sounds like he was good today.

We needed a win no matter how it was achieved

They missed a very good chance hitting the post before we scored but we played more on the front foot particularly in the first half with everyone putting a shift in

They pressed in the second half but that was to be expected but we held on for a vital win

Apart from Coddington and Manderville Sheridan resorted to the players and formation that served him well last season

Lets hope this is the turning point for a climb up the table

Also we have actually won a match so this match thread is only 2 pages long

Funny that

I would also agree with Weston as MOM

He gave the ball away a couple of times but overall he broke up a lot of Torquay attacks

His best game for us by a mile. Broke up play very well and didn’t go missing like usual. Made one suicidal pass towards the end and a couple of other sloppy ones near the end when we was under pressure but was still much, much improved. Let’s hope he can keep that standard up because he was impressive!

Perhaps he is better as a ball winner (in the modern, break-up-opposing-play Morsy mould) than whatever he has been deployed as until now (sort of box-to-box, up and down but ineffective)?
These go to eleven.

Great to see Weston bounce back after last weeks fracas, my motm, made 2 mistakes whole game but his tackling and back tracking was awesome. The whole team especially the defence were awesone without the hinderence of Gerrard. Tom made a sound return and caused prblems and Scott was back to his predatory best. Shezza was in full voice today and back to his old self rollicking certain players, which has to be a good sigm that our season could be beginning to take a turn for the better.
Kop choir did a splendid job geeing up the crowd and we certainly played our part today. Hoppe shezza strengthens the side next week so that we can kickstart our promotion push.
Just seen our winner again on BT sport and they keep giving us a mention. Rectum and Sutton look shocking 0-0.

Maybe last week's 'fracas' was the kick up the bottom Weston needed?
