They caused chaos all along the road in from junction 30, and I think there was a fair on the donut that day which gave them a few more folk to fight with!
On the pitch they were undone by John Ryan's miracle switch to left midfield.

One of only a couple of times I've left a match early. It had been held up for ages whilst their goons climbed floodlights and Alan Buckley pleaded over the tannoy for them to behave- not that the Saltergate tannoy was audible back then- and when Ryan put in the second goal on 80 minutes (if memory serves) to seal our playoff spot (they were up automatically already) it seemed obvious they would kick off. I left early. They kicked off. And trashed the town afterwards.
These go to eleven.

Didn't they need to avoid defeat for some kind of league record?

We scraped in to the play offs by that one goal, too.

We had our bus window put through on the way home, on Sheffield road by a group who'd just come down Abercrombie street to see our bus sat in traffic full of town fans.

Is my mind playing tricks on me or do we seemed to play barnet away towards the end of the season quite a bit.

Coventry away on New Years day is a good fixture (and personally find a new years days fixture is a very welcome return)

The November 25th game will likely change.
It's been pointed out that the fixtures have us, County and Forest all at home on the same day just twice for the whole season.....but idiotically, one of those two times happens to be November 25th.

The Notts plod won't like that. Will probably change it to the Sunday I would guess.

I would think there is more chance that one of the Nottingham teams will be moved as they wont have them at home about half a mile apart on the same day compared to our game and one of them being on at the same time. Odds are they will move the County game on the basis all the Forest fans in Mansfield will be at the Forest game rather than around to cause trouble at our fixture. Not the first time they've scheduled our game in Mansfield on the same day as Forest being at home so probably not an accident.

If we've owt to play for the last 2 away games it could prove intetesting ticket wise, with them being new grounds.
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

Not so sure...even if they were to move Clownty's game, the Notts plod would still be under-manned I would have thought because Forest have got Cardiff that day. They come with more than their fair share of idiots.
I know our game will be an early one with the numbers made up with Derbyshire Police too, but Forest always come first so I wouldn't be shocked if they make us move it.

Ideally I was going to both. Crawley should be OK still but Colchester might be a struggle.

Luton, Stevenage, Wycombe, Barnet and maybe Cambridge should all be easy local trips.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Camrbidge and Barnet likely to be fairly big followings I imagine, 2 new grounds for many.

Looking at the home fixtures, and given the massive drop in ST sales (assuming attendances will follow suit, and lower away followings too), can anyone see a month where DA won't have to put money in to keep us afloat?

I really hope they've set this season's budget based on less than 5k home averages!!

I'm in favour of unappealing long distance trips being midweek. Not many would go either way.

Last time at Field Mill was the same day as Forest/Derby wasn't it?

It was, thats the game i was thinking about but having checked it was at Derby not Forest. I still think our game will kick off the same day as the Forest game but possibly earlier in the day than 3pm with the County game being moved. Makes sense for our game and that one to be the ones that play the same day. More likely than 2 games at the same time about half a mile apart.

I've a feeling that the game was halted until order was restored. The away end was rammed.

It'll be 12.30 at a guess.
