At last some good news to report

The club have booked a week long pre-season training camp in Spain, close to the Portuguese border (nearest Airport Faro) from 9th to 16th July hoping to finish with a friendly against Middlesbrough on the 15th although this has yet to be finalised,

FANS INVITED

I'm told Dave Allen is personally paying for trip, which isn't a loan

Further details to follow in due course

Middlesbrough in the past few seasons have been training near Marbella so I'm lead to believe. Could it be that far across or are we talking really close to the border?

It sounds interesting though, my missus is a Boro fan so we both like the sound of it.

I wouldn't describe Marbella as close to the Portuguese border, you would think they would describe close to the Costa del Sol

There are definitely a professional training camps on the Costa de la Luz (between Portugal and Gibraltar. One in Heulva (very close the border) and one near Cadiz (quite close).

I'm told the camp is approximately an hour by road from Faro, so Azul won't be far out.

Expect the news to be officially announced tonight.

In addition to cheap flights, car hire is ridiculously inexpensive out there

If a long weekend works it could be a winner. I'd personally rather not ruin a break in the sun by bumping into Carson and watching Town get pumped.

Boro used to always use Browns on the Algarve which is where many teams go for training camps.
Near Vilamoura

That will be Huelva (possibly Ayamonte) then.

Would have loved it to be Cadiz

Hoping it'll be confirmed as Boro soon. It's an excuse for a holiday if we are as my missus will be wanting to go to.

Anyone know when the Raffle tickets start to be sold? I fancy Spain more than Hungary.

Not booked but looked, waiting for final confirmation and all details before booking. Probably stay in Albufeira and get a hire car. Might be an idea if there are a number of people interested for us to get together and see if we can get some some sort of group discount

Let us know mate sounds good, not sure where to stay until they confirm anything but 7/8 of us will be going if given enough notice.

I've booked flights for me and other half will be having a few days in Seville before probably heading for Albuferia for the weekend of the match. Good idea to see if we can get some car sharing/lifts sorted to/from the game as public transport may be problematic depending on the venue and kick off time

If you want to see 10 players train in the sun, why stay there and have to travel up to 4 hours a day to do it

Plenty of smaller but nicer resorts around Huelva
